Volvo prepares C60 Convertible for 2013

After the market launch of the new S60 luxury sedan , Volvo has decided to also offer a convertible version based on it. Called the C60, the future convertible will be built on the same midsize EUCD platform from Ford, making it bigger than the current C70 . It will be a cheaper alternative to models like the Audi A5 and Mercedes-Benz E350 . A final decision will be made next year on whether or not the C60 convertible will be produced even though Volvo refuses to comment on these rumors.

Like with the S60 sedan, the C60 convertible will also be available with a variety of diesel and gas burning power plants spanning the range from an economical 115 HP DRIVe version to a high performance T6 turbocharged mill producing a maximum output of 304 HP and 324.5 lb-ft of torque. The C60 will deliver the same sprint time as the sedan, around 6.5 seconds with a top speed limited to 155 mph.

Stay tuned, we’ll get back with more details as soon as we have them!

Most probably it was an awesome production. The deliver power output of the car is quite remarkable! Well, it seems that Volvo have used an impressive engine for this production.

hmm. I’m really amazed with decent and sporty styling of the car. For a convertible, the deliver power output of the car is quite impressive. I wonder on what will be the competitor of this car?

I guess they have to pull out the merchandise and perform another formula in selling.

They already release the c70.And I would say that C70 is overpriced and underpowered.

looks nice. Tho the roof looks complicated and heavy. I’d drive it tho. Thumbs up

This refined exterior also transcends into its communicative steering, precise handling and powerful V6 that conspire to make you believe you’re driving a G37 sedan.

You mean poor performing and low satisfaction dealers could be cut? Well boohoo. The downside to franchise laws is that they make it difficult to cut an under performing franchise

I think this is a nice looking car but is perhaps the WORST example yet of the front end looking 3 sizes too large for the rest of the car. I think the headlights are a big contributor. Instead of the headlights masking the bulk, they make it look like the car has Groucho glasses on.
