I’ve got to admit that I love when Evo does drag battle videos. Its most recent battle pits the BMW M2 against the Ford Mustang 5.0 GT. Off that bat, it sounds like an unfair race right? German sports car against American “muscle,” V-6 against V-8, 365 ponies against 410 ponies – everything kind of points to the Mustang winning doesn’t it?

I won’t ruin the video for you, but this isn’t exactly a sweet race. One definitely outdoes the other and to be honest, that in itself is pretty damn funny. For those of you who don’t know the official specs, they are as follows: The Mustang has a 5.0-liter V-8 while the BMW M2 has a 3.0-liter six-cylinder. The Bimmer puts down 365 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque while the Mustang looks better on paper with 410 horsepower and 391 pound-feet of torque. For the record, the Bimmer’s max torque kicks in at just 1,450 rpm while the Ford doesn’t hit its full potential until it hits 4,250 rpm. The Ford is heavier by 421 pounds, which means the M2 has one horsepower per ton more than the Ford. Both have a top speed that is limited to 155 mph.

The biggest difference between the two – aside from the difference between American and German engineering – is the price point. The Mustang goes, as tested in this video for $45,304, while the M2 goes for $60,296 at current exchange rates. So, with that said, click play to watch the video!
