World's Ultimate Car Collection - 7000 strong

Posted on by 18

Ever wonder where all that money you pay for gas goes? Well, $5,000,000,000 of it has been accounted for and, no, it hasn’t gone to making the world a better place. It’s gone to one man’s collection of 7,000 high performance cars. That’s not a typo, that’s nine zeros. Hassanal Bolkiah, Sultan of Brunei is the proud collector of what is undeniably the world’s most unique and gargantuan car collection. Where do you keep 7000 of the world’s rarest cars? Well, he doesn’t have a 7000 door garage, instead he stores most of them in five ultra-secret aircraft hangars, featuring a team of specialists from different car manufacturers to keep the cars happy. By now you’re probably wondering what is in his lavish collection and, well, the statistics are quite staggering. According to the Daily Mirror, as of June 30th 2010, The wealthy sultan is a proud owner of 604 Rolls Royces , 574 Mercedes-Benzes , 452Ferraris , 382 Bentleys , 209 BMWs , 179 Jaguars , 134 Koenigseggs , 21 Lamborghinis , 11 Aston Martins , and 1 SSC .

Hit the jump for more some more staggering information on this one man’s car collection.

To put this whole thing into perspective, 10 of those 11 Aston Martins are the super-rare One-77 . In case the obvious isn’t obvious enough, there were only 77 of those supercars made. Wait, it gets better: Koenigsegg puts out a limited 20 cars a year and Mr. Bolkiah has 134 of them. If that’s not enough to tickle your fancy he also has an array of super-rare one-off cars that really makes his collection stand apart. These one-offs include two, rare, operational, Ferrari Mythos concepts, a modified Jaguar XJ220 designed by Pininfarina himself, a Bentley Java, and a Bentley Dominator 4x4. He is also the owner of the only Cicero BDB Maestro ever built. Other cars include the only right hand drive Mercedes CLKGTR, built just for him, the only Porsche Carma , and the only Koenigsegg Agera CC GT. It makes you wonder, why would all these car manufacturers provide such rare, expensive, cars to a man who lets them sit in an aircraft hangar?

I was shocked on what I had read. Imagine, 7000 cars owned by a single person. I’ll offer my bow on collecting those great cars. The Sultan of Brunei was no wonder one of the richest people in the world.

Wow! I guess its collection is higher than the Guinness World record holder the LeMay Museum. What’s really interesting here is , how the vehicle was collected. Its really unbelievable on how this vehicle was gathered in the museum.

The good thing about the museum was that, it shows on how the rich history of the car and it let us appreciate the ancestors of the modern vehicle!

I bet he got all the precious collections. The sultan must put up a museum so that his constituents would be proud of seeing it.

Alex12de; thank you for the clarification. Maybe, the Sultan should audit again the total number smiley and we’ll be surprised on the actual confirmation.

Its there money actually so they can do what ever they want! and God, Im envy!haha

$5,000,000,000?? God, that’s a lot of money. I guess that money will do help to decrease the poverty that the world is suffering now. And damn, millionaire just spend that billion dollars to luxury!

Of course, if you are a Sultan, you’ve got plenty of $ hehe. But awesome collection, what a fantastic hobby he has.

what are the actual classification of the cars that is included in the collection.

$5,000,000,000? I can see 9 zeroes.. I feel dizzy..lol!

To the guy below. What does that have to do with this post? And how could you be mad you bought a game superior to GT5 that you also get to enjoy while GT5 continually gets delayed?

I made the mistake of being impatient and bought a 360 and Forza 3, and now I dearly regret doing so some 10 months later on the verge of GT5.

Many mistakes. Koenigsegg hasn’t even produced that many cars. Is that Koenigsegg an Agera or CCGT, they are 2 different models. He also owns 2 McLaren F1 LMs painted just for him.

Considering that Koenigseggs total production since they started is about 70 cars (according to Wikipedia) there seem to be some errors here.....Greetings from Sweden! smiley

I don’t really care how many cars has he got.... but the only thing that bugs me is the fact that he will never use all of his cars, and thats not good.
And why whould you buy so many cars if you know that you are not going to use them every day.......Whats the point of having so many cars ?!?!

They also forgot the 1 lime green 2003 nissan micra he uses for trips to the shops.

The list is wrong! He has more than 100 Aston Martins and it is impossible for him to have so many Koenigseggs! ooh and lastly he has more Lambos...

So what kind of lambos does he have then? Ten Reventons or something?
