car video games

Car video games are more realistic than ever. With famous franchise like Gran Turismo and Forza motorports leading the way in mass market racing simulaion. Car video games are available in all genre, from destruction derby to drag racing. This page covers them all and on every platform: console, pc, mac, mobile, tablets.

The recent E3 games conference held in Los Angeles, California this year gave us a good look at some of the upcoming racing video games that are all in the pipeline.

We’ve already seen previews of Gran Turismo 6, Forza 5, and even Need for Speed: Rivals. But there’s still one more game that’s looking to turn some heads.

This one comes Ubisoft and it’s called "The Crew.” If you watch the dedicated preview trailer of the game, you’d think that you were watching the first Fast & Furious movie again. But instead of the old Honda S2000’s they used in the movie, you get the treat of being behind the wheel of a heavily-modified Chevrolet Camaro .

The Crew has been classified as an open-world car action game, which means that there’s probably a strong reliance on online-play wherein you gather up your own outlaw crew with the objective of doing a multitude of law-breaking jobs.

Combine the detailed car customization program with the chance to play your own Fast and Furious storyline, and you have a game that definitely caught our attention.

The “Need for Speed” movie is scheduled to hit theaters next year and while that’s been getting more publicity in the past few days, it’s also worth pointing out that Electronic Arts is releasing the latest installment of the car racing video game franchise this year.

The game is called “Need for Speed: Rivals” and the latest trailer appears to suggest that the ’rivals’ approach is far more than just a title.

It’s already been established that with “NFS: Rivals”, gamers will be given the opportunity to either play the game as a the street racer or the cop, ensuring that they can experience the thrills of being the chaser or the runner, depending on what suits their style better.

What’s more, Need for Speed’s new trailer gives everyone a chance to understand both situations, complete with a voiceover dialogue from the protagonist and antagonist alike.

“Need for Speed: Rivals” is scheduled to hit shelves on November 19th, giving us enough time to absorb what we’re in store for so once we get a hold of the game later this year.

Don’t be mistaken by GRID 2’s standing in the hierarchy of car racing video games. It doesn’t hold the cache of Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsports. Nor does it have the history of Need for Speed.

What it does have is a pretty good video game, one that’s now made even better with the presence of Aston Martin . Specifically, three of the finest Astons to have ever been built: the One-77 , the V12 Zagato and the new Vanquish .

If for nothing else, Aston Martin’s presence in Grid 2 is a perfect marketing collaboration for the two companies. But even that pales to what the possibilities could be once you get to play the three exotics in the game.

GRID 2 isn’t scheduled to hit shelves until later this year, but we’re already excited to see how these three Astons fare in the world of GRID 2.

Downloadable content is one of the few ways that video game manufacturers have found a way to keep their hands in your pockets long after buying the game and car games are among the biggest offenders. Now GRID2, which is set to hit shelves on May 28th, has a way to dig into your pocket before you even buy the game by way of the IndyCar Pack.

To further turn you onto the pack, Codemasters has revealed a new teaser video of the IndyCar Pack (above). Fortunately, you can get the pack for free if you preorder the game from Best Buy before its launch on May 28th, but after that, we’re sure it’ll cost you at least a few extra bucks.

From the information on GRID2’s Facebook page, we can see that this new pack will include access to the Dallara IndyCar, the IndyCar Pace car, a pair of new routes around Indianapolis Motor Speedway Oval Circuit and an “exclusive online event.” Also revealed is exclusive livery for online racing, a Camaro SS and the Corvette Z06 Centennial Edition .

Not too bad for a free pack, but we’re not too sure if it is worth actually forking out any dough to pick it up. In fact, the deals included with a GameStop or Amazon preorder – McLaren Racing Pack and GTR Racing Pack or Head Start Pack, respectively – seem like better deals too. That is, unless you really want to find out two other ways to make it around the Indy Motor Speedway…
