This is not the first tuning package we’ve seen for the new generation SLK-Class, but when it comes to Mercedes models, Carlsson always seems to do an extraordinary job. And their package for the new SLK set to be revealed in Geneva next week is no exception. The new package offers an impressive exterior and interior kit, as well as an increase of 38 HP for the SLK250 version.
For the exterior, Carlsson added a new front spoiler, a carbon fiber RS front spoiler lip, and Carlsson grille inserts made from electro-polished stainless steel. For the rear, the package adds new skirt inserts, a new diffuser, and a new spoiler for increased downthrust. The car sits on a new set of 19" wheels combined with a new suspension system that lowers the car’s ride by 30 millimeters.
For the interior, the tuner put in Nappa Exclusive leather, Carlsson pedal overlays, Carlsson footrests, Carlsson door locking pins made from brushed aluminum, door sill panels, and a glass wind deflector with the laser-printed Carlsson logo.
A CB25 S performance kit takes care of the 1.8 four-cylinder engine by increasing the power from the standard 201 HP to 239 HP. The performance kit was combined with a new stainless steel rear muffler with four oval tailpipes.
So what if the holiday season has come and gone? For some folks, the season extends longer than just the turning of the calendar year and in the spirit of this ’extended’ season, German tuning firm Carlsson has decided to give their CK63 RS some Christmas-themed enhancements.
Their name for it? The CK63 RS Santa Edition. If only Santa used this car instead of his usual sleigh...
The whole idea behind Carlsson building a specially-themed program was to build a concept to present something for the season and, boy, did they ever. The engine specs of the car remain the same as that of the CK63 RS, which means that the car’s 5.5-liter bi-turbo V8 engine saw a noticeable bump in output, from the standard 557 horsepower and 590 lb/ft of torque all the way up to 652 horsepower and 663 lb/ft of torque, with the improvements giving the CLS63 AMG a faster 0-62 mph time of just 4.1 seconds.
Likewise, you’ll also see the same aerodynamic package, one that features a new carbon fiber front spoiler, a new spoiler lip, a new trunk lid spoiler, a rear skirt insert and diffuser, and a new set of 20" Carlsson 1/10 Brilliant Edition lightweight alloy wheels. What makes this special CK63 RS so unique is that it’s been dressed with a Diamond White Metallic paint finish that matches the Nappa Exclusive leather interior trim that comes with a "Santa Red" color.
According to Carlsson, a similar specially-themed CK63 RS will be headed to the 2012 Geneva Motor Show this March, which means that we might have more than just one of these unique bad boys on tap.
Carlsson is considered as one of the best Mercedes tuning companies in the world and when customer calls to have their Mercs customized, they answer with some of the most comprehensive programs on the market.
Recently, Carlsson received a client request to build a program for the Mercedes CLS-Class (C218) and they went to work to provide a comprehensive special aerodynamic and performance package based on one of their recently-released programs.
To ensure that the CLS keeps an agile appearance, Carlsson added a new carbon front spoiler and lip spoiler, as well as black steel grille inserts, on the front of the car. At the rear, the German tuning company went out and dropped a rear spoiler and a rear apron insert with a carbon fiber Carlsson RS rear diffuser, providing that extra downforce to create a more stable driving experience of the car. The package was completed by a new set of 20” Carlsson Design alloy wheels.
Inside, Carlsson’s reputation for excellent craftsmanship was in full display. The German tuner took the interior of this luxury sedan and dressed it up with most luxurious of materials, including leather, Alcantara, carbon fiber, and natural wood. The front seats of the car were re-upholstered with Carlsson’s very own Nappa Exclusive leather while the rest of the interior was given velour floor mats with the Carlsson logo, scuff plates with blue illuminated Carlsson logo, and polished aluminium door locking pins.
This unique one-off Carlsson-tuned CLS-Class was given the same engine set-up as the Mercedes CK63 RS, a model Carlsson introduced at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show. Just like that model, this one comes with an engine improvement of up to 649 horsepower and 663 lb/ft of torque, allowing the car to improve its 0-62 mph time from 4.3 seconds to 4.1 seconds.
German tuning firm, Carlsson, has come up with a new tuning program for the Mercedes S-Class, only this time, we won’t get a sniff of the program unless live in China.
That’s right; Carlsson’s ’CS 60 Royale’ tuning program for the Merc S-Class is being offered exclusively for the Chinese market.
In the event that you do live in China and you can avail of this program, then consider yourself lucky. The CS 60 Royale features an extensive body kit that includes a front lip, side skirts, boot lid spoiler, front and rear aprons, and new oval tailpipe trims. The S-Class also receives new polished stainless steel grille inserts, additional light units, vertically mounted LED daytime running lights, and a set of Carlsson’s own 20" 1/10 Brilliant Edition alloy wheels. Inside, Carlsson added a logo to the seat headrests, a set of blue illuminated sill plates, a plaque on the center console, and the signature of Carlsson president Mark Schuster.
Performance improvements are also part of Carlsson’s CS 60 Royale program, most notably the addition of a sports exhaust and a remapped ECU unit. With these modifications, the German tuning firm was able to take the S-Class’ twin-turbocharged V12 engine and increase its output from 517 horsepower all the way up to 600 horsepower. Translated, the S-Class can now hit 0-62 mph in just 4.3 seconds with a new top speed of 198 mph.
During the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, Carlsson unveiled the first upgrade package for the 2012 Mercedes CLS63 AMG, but it seems they opted out of taking a vacation over the summer to present us with something new. For the 2011 Frankfurt Show, the tuner has revealed the CK63 RS; a new package with even more impressive exterior modifications and an extra 50 HP over the previous package.
The new CK63 RS starts off with the new CLS63 AMG equipped with the AMG Performance Package which increases the V8’s engine output to 557 HP and 589 lbs-ft (up from 525 HP and 516 lbs-ft of torque). After a few tuning tweaks, the new CK63 RS delivers a total of 649 HP and 663 lbs-ft of torque, sprinting the Mercedes from 0 to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds.
The exterior design for the new generation Mercedes CLS isn’t ho-hum by any means, but the added muscle provided by Carlsson warranted some changes. For that the tuner added a new front spoiler, a carbon fiber front spoiler lip, painted stainless steel grille inserts, a discrete trunk lip spoiler, and a new rear bumper. There is also a new set of 20" wheels in a double spoke design (available in Brilliant Edition, Graphite Edition, and Titanium Edition) and a new stainless steel sport exhaust system with 4 oval end pipes.
The Mercedes can also be lowered by about 30mm with a Carlsson patented suspension with two sport springs. This suspension reads the road conditions every 150 milliseconds and adjusts accordingly.
For the interior, customers can choose between wood, leather, Alcantara, and carbon fiber. The vehicle’s door panels, seats, and the rear seat bench are covered in Mokka brown Carlsson nappa leather and the dashboard, door panels, and center console have dark brown/matte carbon inlays. Other features of the interior include illuminated door sill panels, soft velour floor mats with a Carlsson logo, and brushed aluminum door pins.
Noted Mercedes tuning company, Carlsson, has been far busier than usual these past few weeks. Of course, with the Frankfurt Motor Show scheduled in a month’s time, everybody is pretty busy in the auto industry these days.
For their part, Carlsson has dropped the details on one of their IAA-bound vehicles, the Mercedes GL-Class Grand Edition "CGL45". With upgrades being done across the board, Carlsson’s new program for the GL-Class Grand Edition offers plenty of improvements. For starters, the SUV’s body package comes from high-quality PUR-Rim plastic, the wheel arches have been made wider, and there’s a new chrome radiator grille complemented by mesh inserts. On top of that, the tuning company also added an impressive lighting set-up that features a couple of double light units wand LED daytime running lights on the front spoiler. Rounding out the exterior package are a set of 22" 1/5 Evo Brilliant Edition five-spoke alloy wheels and a suspension kit that drops the SUV’s ride height by 30 mm.
Inside, Carlsson gave the GL-Class Grand Edition a variety of goodies, including Nappa leather, Alcantara, stainless steel, and wood trimmings. There are also embossed illuminated sill plates and unique numbered and signed plaques on the center console for each model.
As far as the engine is concerned, the GL-Class Grand Edition received a notable bump in power, thanks to the tuner’s own C-Tronic power unit. The resulting upgrade took the SUV’s 5.5-liter V8 engine on the GL500 from an output of 388 horsepower and 391 lb/ft of torque all the way up to 435 horsepower and 442 lb/ft of torque.
On the heels of the upgrades made by Mercedes tuner extraordinaire, Brabus, for the 2011 S-Class, another noted aftermarket company is releasing their program for the high-end luxury car.
While the package comes with plenty of aesthetic upgrades, the most notable improvement Carlsson made on the S-Class is an engine tweak that took the output of the car’s 5.5-liter 12-cylinder bi-turbo engine from the standard 517 horsepower all the way up to 600 horsepower. These power figures allowed it a 0-62 mph time of 4.3 seconds and a mighty impressive top speed of 198 mph. If that doesn’t tickle your fancy, Carlsson is also offering an engine package for the powerful S63 AMG, taking its output from 571 ponies all the way up to 684 HP.
The numbers are staggering for a luxury car like the Mercedes S-Class, but there’s more to Carlsson’s program than just an increased engine output. There are also plenty of aesthetic improvements, including an aero kit that features a new front lip, a boor lid spoiler, and front and rear aprons. The tuner also threw in new stainless steel grille inserts, four new headlights, a series of LED daytime running lights, a C-Tronic lowering kit that drops the car’s height by 30 mm, and a set of Carlsson’s own 1/10 Brilliant Edition alloy wheels measured in either 19" or 20".
Inside, Carlsson dressed up the S-Class with a custom leather upholstery that comes with the company badging embossed into the headrests with a blue illuminated signature in the door sill adding a nice touch to the whole look of the car.
Aesthetically, the package won’t overwhelm you with anything outlandish. But given that the car is the flagship S600 model of Merc’s S-Class family, anything that’s over-the-top would only ruin the luxury car’s overall prestige.
The Carlsson C25 officially debuted last year at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show, and this year it’s back in Geneva with more goodies and an even cooler name. The Super GT C25 Royale is a tuning project based on the Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG. It includes an abundance of carbon fiber elements, as well as optimized driving dynamics and perfected electronics. Carlsson will only build 25 units of the C25 Royale, one unit for each country the vehicle will be sold in.
"There are more than enough super cars around that can only be driven safely on a racing track", says engineer Markus Schuster, Managing Director at Carlsson. "We deliberately wanted to develop a car that is exclusive on the one hand but can still be used for the daily commute to the office. A Super GT which can go from 0 to 100 kph in just 3.7 seconds while at the same time offering the utmost in ride comfort."

For the CLS 63 AMG package, the 5.5-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine has been updated to deliver an impressive 600 HP, up from the standard 518 HP and 516 lb.-ft. of torque. Next to this, the tuner is offering a nifty aerodynamic package that includes a new front spoiler, an RS front spoiler lip (available in real carbon), a new rear spoiler, a rear apron, and a built-in diffuser which functions as a tailplane and ensures extra downforce and more stable road holding at high speeds.
As an added bonus, this package can be applied to any other model in the CLS-Class line-up.

The new generation Mercedes CLS has just been launched onto the market and tuners are already preparing tuning packages for it. The first was brought on by Lorinser, and now Carlsson is bringing the second. Their package includes both petrol and diesel engine updates and an impressive exterior kit.
The aerodynamic kit starts with a new front spoiler and RS front spoiler lip, as well as power domes for the bonnet and mudguard inserts. All of these features are also available in real carbon. Finishing the front end’s makeover are new front apron inserts with LED fog lamps and built-in air inlets. Get to the back of the Mercedes and Carlsson has added a new rear spoiler, a stainless steel rear silencer, and two oval tailpipes.
For the interior, the tuner is offering an Alcantara sports steering wheel, pedals and foot rests made of brushed aluminum, and velour foot mats featuring the Carlsson logo.
The CLS 350 CGI and CLS 350 CDI models are getting a bump up on the rest with a CK35 performance kit. This kit gets the CGI up to 333hp and the CDI to 320hp. With this power increase the CLS will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 5.9 seconds.
This package adds much more to the luxury sedan than the package from Lorinser, but we are sure that by the time the Mercedes CLS gets put on the market, these packages will see plenty of changes and renditions.
