World famous DJ David Guetta loses his license for life

David Guetta is one of the word’s best DJs and his skills behind the mixer are without question. Apparently, those hands of his aren’t as good behind the steering wheel of a car.

In a recent interview with German newspaper, Bild, Guetta admitted that his license was revoked on a permanent basis in France for excessive speeding. A lot of times. We don’t know if he has an insatiable appetite for speeding tickets, but losing your license for life is one of those things that we dread the most. That and seeing a bathtub full of snakes.

Ever the celebrity, Guetta brushed off his punishment, saying that he wasn’t that big of a driver in the first place. At least he’s not strapped for cash and he can just hire a chauffeur to do the driving for him.

But still, we can’t fathom the thought of our license only being returned to us until after we hit the curb. We won’t have much use for that then, wouldn’t we?

Mystery Acura sports car spotted in Avengers set

In the past two installments of Iron Man, Robert Downey Jr., aka Tony Stark, never hid his affinity for the Audi R8.

But thanks to Marvel Studio’s recent partnership with Acura, it looks like our favorite billionaire playboy is turning over his Audi digs for an Acura sports car that, quite frankly, we’ve never seen before.

Acura began appearing in Thor and Captain America as S.H.I.E.L.D.’s official official chose of brand. With the collaboration movie - the Avenges - currently filming in New York, it appears that Acura has allowed the studio to use a mysterious car that has yet been given any information on.

When asked by Autoblog about the matter, the automaker responded that the mystery car is a one-off make that’s neither a concept nor a production model.

"The open-top sports car that was photographed yesterday is a one-off, fictional car that was made just for the movie and will not be produced," Acura’s Gary Robinson said.

Judging from the looks of the car, it does remind us a little bit of the R8 in terms of its overall shape. And to be honest about it, we certainly wouldn’t mind seeing this car in concept guise. Better yet, let’s have it built for production!

2012 Lotus Evora S for Mercury Phoenix Trust

If you have ever celebrated a winning occasion by singing "We are the Champions," then the identity of Freddie Mercury hasn’t escaped your attention. Best known as the lead vocalist of the rock band Queen, Mercury was an iconic singer and songwriter with a flamboyant personality and inspirational talent. This year marks what would be the singer’s 65th birthday and Lotus is celebrating "one of rock’s greatest all-time entertainers" by creating a special edition Evora S that will be auctioned on September 5, 2011, with all proceeds going to the Mercury Phoenix Trust (an aids charity set up by Queen after Freddie’s death).

This special Evora S will be painted in white with a deep red stripe down the middle and will feature a yellow interior. These colors are symbolic as they were chosen to match Freddie’s 1986 "Magic tour" Wembley concert costume. Other choice features for the Evora S include a union flag on the back of the seats and the incorporation of a crown which hints at Freddie’s playful royal role-play. Finishing off the tributary Evora is an inscription on the front fenders that makes a reference to the Montreux Freddie memorial statue, stating "Lover of life. Singer of song."

The auction will take place on September 5, 2011 at the Savoy Hotel in London, where 300 friends and well-wishers will attempt to ’be Freddie for a day’ by dressing up as the famous musician.

If you don’t happen to win the car, there are a slew of other auction pieces fit for any Queen fan. Hit the jump to check them out!

1970 Porsche 911S owned by Steve McQueen

Thirty years after his death, Steve McQueen’s name still reverberates within the auto industry. The man known as the “King of Cool” was not only one of his generation’s biggest movie stars, but also made a name for himself for his love of cars, racing, and a combination of the two.

Speaking of cars, McQueen owned a pretty amazing collection of cars back in the day, one of which is this 1970 Porsche 911 that’s headed for the auction block at RM Auctions in Monterey, California this coming August.

According to RM, the car, all 40 years old of it, still "remains in exceptionally original condition". While some people will be skeptical of buying an old Porsche that undoubtedly has had its fair share of work done to it, those who prefer to see the glass as half-full will point out that this particular 911 still stands as one of the most iconic 911 models in history.

Even if it’s gone through a number of owners after the original, you still can’t deny that this particular model’s first owner is no other than the "King of Cool" himself, Steve McQueen.

UPDATE 08/22/2011: Steve McQueen’s slate gray Porsche 911S ended up selling for a lavish $1,375,000 at RM Auctions this past weekend.

Details on Steve McQueen’s Porsche 911 after the jump.

World’s biggest James Bond auto collection scheduled for 2012 exhibit

James Bond may be a fictional character to all of us, but the dashing debonair / awesome secret agent is still an inspiration to all of us. Who wouldn’t want to be in his shoes? He’s got a killer job, he scores the hottest women, and best of all - at least in our case - he drives the fanciest cars.

That last part is such an integral part of the Bond legend that an exhibition is actually being planned to showcase the largest collection of James Bond vehicle to ever be displayed. The whole event is being prepared through the collaborative efforts of the UK’s National Motor Museum, Beaulieu and EON Productions, which is doing the groundwork for the event in preparation for the 50th anniversary of Ian Fleming’s Bond franchise.

Around 50 cars are expected to be included in the exhibit highlighted by the 2008 Aston Martin DBS from Quantum of Solace, the 2002 Jaguar XKR with SFX weapons from Die Another Day, the 1964 Aston Martin DB5 from Goldeneye, and the 1937 Phantom lll Rolls-Royce from Goldfinger.

The exhibit will be held at the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu, United Kingdom and will run the entire length of the 2012 calendar year.

“Following the success of the first Bond cars exhibition staged at Beaulieu in 2001, we are delighted to be working with EON again on this new display, bringing together the world’s largest collection of Bond vehicles, Beaulieu’s Commercial Director, Stephen Munn said.

The exhibit won’t open for another few months, but it’s safe to say that we’ll be dropping by to check it out if we find ourselves in the area next year.

Adam Carolla could get in trouble for latest homophobic rant

Adam Carolla has never been one to speak with a filter on his mouth and in the past few years, he’s gotten in a lot of trouble for his choice of words. You’d think that by now, he would have learned his lesson and not continue to hide under his old and used up defense of being a ’comedian’. But apparently, the man just can’t keep his lid shut and his latest tirade against homosexuals has cast a new light on the man’s crassness and overall stupidity.

The whole thing happened during one of his recent podcasts on the Adam Carolla Show where he took some shots towards an Internet campaign that was pushing for Sesame Street characters Bert and Ernie to get married. Clearly offended by the insinuation, Carolla lashed out, asking: "When did everybody get f-----g lumped in with the gays? Really? What percentage is transgendered?"

Clearly not satisfied, Carolla then went ahead and attacked the LGBT community, telling them in no uncertain terms to "shut up" about getting equal rights because, in his own words, "you’re ruining my life."

After his comments stirred the pot, Carolla came out and released a statement in his Twitter account, saying: "I’m sorry my comments were hurtful. That being said, I’m a comedian, not a politician." Okay, that makes it better. He’s apologizing that his comments were hurtful. but he’s justifying himself because he’s a comedian and not a politician?

Birdman becomes proud owner of an $8 million Maybach Exelero; Hasn’t paid for it yet

Rappers tend to have some of the biggest paychecks known to man. Even "Birdman" who may not be the most recognized or the most talented rapper has enough money to splurge now and again. Keeping that in mind, it’s no wonder that he recently became the owner of a Maybach Exelero for which he paid an incredible $8 million. Considering Forbes lists him as the fourth wealthiest rapper and he is also the proud owner of a Bugatti Veyron and a Maybach Landaulet, this latest purchase shouldn’t astound anyone.

"They got this new Maybach that I want that costs $8 million, I gotta have it," he said in a recent interview, and why shouldn’t he when his net worth is estimated to be $100 million?

The Exelero is powered by a V12 biturbo engine that develops an impressive 700 HP at 5,000 rpm and 753 lm.ft of maximum torque at 2,500 rpm. It can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds and hits a top speed of 218 mph. If that isn’t impressive enough, there is only one Exelero in the world.

UPDATE 08/15/2011: Either Birdman has changed his mind or the money from his old CDs isn’t coming in as fast as he would like it to because the rapper has yet to pay for his expensive new ride. According to a representative of European entrepreneur, Arnaud Massartic (the current owner of the Exelero), Birdman has yet to pay for the Maybach. All this means is that anyone with a spare $8 million can still snag the vehicle and pull a Jay-Z/Kanye makeover. (MotorAuthority)

Video: Jay-Z and Kanye West Kill a Maybach 57 and Then Auction It

With a price tag of more than $340K, the Maybach 57 is definitely a car that will only be driven by some of the richest people in the world. Then again, sometimes some of the richest people in the world shouldn’t be allowed to drive it.

In their latest video, "Otis," rappers Jay-Z and Kanye West have done the unthinkable and destroyed a perfectly good Maybach limousine. No, it wasn’t an accident; these guys did it on purpose. Why? Apparently, they wanted to customize the Maybach for their video. Next time, they should take Otis Redding’s word to heart and Try a Little Tenderness.

Nevertheless, this car is actually getting auctioned off to benefit the East African Drought Disaster, so we hope there are people out there that actually like what these guys have done.

Video: The Batmobile Tumbler finally reveals itself!

About a week ago, we took the time to show you a video of the new Batmobile Tumbler in transit, on its way to a secret location in Pittsburgh. This week, thanks to YouTube member, DoctaM3, we have videos of the Tumbler in all its camouflaged glory.

The production of the movie has taken the cast and crew all over the world, but most recently, they were at the heart of Pittsburgh where the first shots of the undisguised Tumbler finally made their appearance.

All the whispers surrounding what the new Tumbler will look like has now been muted. The rug has been pulled off of Batman’s gargantuan street-destroyer and the military-inspired theme with the camouflage decal only emphasizes the growing sentiment that this particular Batman trilogy directed by Christopher Columbus will go down as one of the best Hollywood trilogies of all time.

And while we’re talking about the Tumbler - there were actually three of them - it’s worth pointing out that they look a lot fiercer and more imposing than the original Tumbler that appeared in Batman Begins.

There’s another video after the jump!

Katie Price buys herself a Bugatti Veyron; plans to paint it pink

Oh the tragedy! Many Americans may not be too familiar with Katie Price, but over in the UK, Price is widely known for her television appearances, her lackluster singing career, and her published books. With so many hobbies, we can only imagine that this little harlot has plenty of money to spend which is evident in her newest toy, a Bugatti Veyron.

Price laid out £1million - or around $1.6 million at the current exchange rates - on this beautifully fast supercar and plans on ruining it by painting it pink to match her other vehicles. Yeah, she has other pink cars to boast of. A close source to her said: "She will anger petrol-heads worldwide by turning such a beautiful, iconic machine bright pink. But at least it will match her other cars." Just goes to show that money can’t buy taste.

In addition to the high cost of the supercar, it seems Price has also purchased a rather expensive "F1" license plate. The Sun doesn’t say anything about the F1 plate slapped right on the front of the car, but it looks very similar to the license plate auctioned off in 2008 to Afzal Kahn (Kahn Design owner) for £440,000 (about $880,000). We don’t know for sure, but with the amount of money Price throws around, we wouldn’t be surprised.
