Celebrities and their fast and expensive cars' stories.

Olympic gold medalist Tyler Clary is our kind of guy. Not to say that we’d decline a chance to meet the President of the US, Barack Obama - in the White House no less - but we appreciate a true petrol head when we see one.

Apparently, Clary, who won gold at the 2012 London Olympics in swimming, decided that he’d rather spend a day of his life jumping at a chance to ride a stock car than to shake hands with the Commander-In-Chief.

The date for Clary’s White House invite was September 14 when the White House would be holding a special event for US Olympic athletes. The date, however, posed a scheduling conflict for Clary, who decided that getting to test drive some stock cars and attending the MAVTV 500 IndyCar event in Fontana, California the next day was higher on his bucket list than meeting the leader of the free world.

Clary has made no bones about his passion for motorsports, having already gone on record to say that he wants to become a full-fledged race car driver once his swimming career comes to an end.

Here’s to hoping the White House understands this snub. After all, this is still America, right?

When we brought you the football installment of Car and Athlete last month, we described how superstar Lionel Messi, despite being considered the best football player in the world, had a pretty modest car collection compared to his peers.

Well, Messi is certainly doing his part building up his garage when a video on YouTube showed the Argentinian taking delivery of a brand-spankin’ new Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale .

The Italian supercar, with its 450-horsepower, 4.7-liter V8 engine has the credentials fitting of a world-class athlete like Messi. And while he still doesn’t have the car collection that his rival, Cristiano Ronaldo has, his new Maserati definitely brings those automotive swag credentials up a notch.

His new toy surely looks pretty sweet when lined up with his other high-priced rides. But if Messi really wants to make a statement, he should have ordered a one-off Pagani Zonda.

Now THAT would put Ronaldo in his place.

If you are both a car fan and a James Bond fan, and saw the “Quantum of Solace” movie, you likely salivated over the Quantum Silver 2008 Aston Martin DBS that Bond drove. You are not alone in this drooling effect, we did it too. Well, now you can own a piece of history – well, a one-of-seven piece of history – by buying this famous 2008 DBS at auction.

Christies auction house is auctioning off one of the seven 2008 Aston Martin DBSs used in the “Quantum of Solace” film. This model is draped in deep silver paint and boasts black leather interior. From the looks of it in the auction catalog, the car looks to be in fantastic shape, but there is no information on what scenes this particular chassis was used in.

This beast is not only famous, but it’s fast too. With its 5.9-liter V-12 engine that pumps out 510 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque, this beast sprints from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in only 4.3 seconds. The 6-speed manual gearbox allows you to rip through the gears at will – no fancy-pants automatic transmission in this sports car.

This 2008 DBS is anticipated to fetch between $160,000 and $230,000, which is about $3,000 to $73,000 more than your everyday 2008 DS is valued at, per Kelly Blue Book. If you can get in it for close to the bottom, you’ve got yourself a great deal. Unfortunately, Christies does not list the actual mileage of the vehicle, but we anticipate that it is extremely low for the year.

The auction kicks off on Friday, October 5th at 8:30 p.m.

Mila Kunis has been in the showbiz spotlight recently for her dalliances with Ashton Kutcher, proving that life does imitate art when it comes to the two former co-stars of The 70’s Show. But what a lot of people don’t know about the Ukraine-born actress is her affinity for muscle, as in muscle cars.

This batch of photos show Kunis baring skin with a Chevrolet Camaro , a car that knows a thing or two about catching attention. Apparently, there’s nothing quite like rubbing skin with a car that packs serious power under its hood. Just goes to show that when you put a hot lass like Kunis and pair her up with a serious road-buster that is a Camaro, you get hot and sizzling photos like these.

If only there were more...

Technically, there’s really no Ferrari FF "Ian Poulter" Edition, but seeing as this unique FF is a ’one-off’ that was delivered to British golfer Ian Poulter, then you can understand why this car holds special regard in our eyes.

Presented at the 2012 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, this particular FF also holds distinction as the first Tailor Made car in the US with an interior design that fits right up Poulter’s tee. No golf pun intended.

For his custom-spec’d model, Poulter opted to deck the interior of his pristine white Ferrari FF with a "Sabbia" triple-layer livery that’s finely complemented by black Poltrona Frau leather and tartan. Matching the peculiar chose of trim is the prevalent use of carbon fiber and high-tech fabric sports elements, which also comes as a first for Ferrari .

Despite earning fame as a professional golfer, Poulter is also a known car enthusiast with a garage that includes a Ford GT , a Bentley Continental GT , and a Ferrari California . With all due respect to those cars - and they’re fine machines by any stretch of the imagination - Poulter’s new, one-off Ferrari FF should definitely have a garage of its own.

Cadillac XLR

Will.i.am has again made it onto our radar. This time, however, it’s not for another disastrous customization that he pawns off as a “new model” in his supposed “car company.” This time around, Will.i.am slammed a Cadillac worth ₤100,000 ($157,830 at current exchange rates) into a parked car.

The first thing we are trying to figure out is what Cadillac Will.i.am has that costs ₤100,000. The most expensive Caddy available in the U.K. now is the Cadillac CTS-V Coupe , and that only runs about ₤85,000, including the VAT. The only other car we can come up with is an older XLR-V , which is the likely culprit.

Fortunately, the pop star escaped the accident with only a bloody nose and whiplash, as did his passenger, Cheryl Cole. The crash took place at about 3:30 am, following a recording session, and the details are still rather sketchy. We’re not too sure what exactly cause the wreck, but we are upset to learn that the parked car was not his “I.am Auto Concept car (AKA a thoroughly thrashed and trashed Delorean).

According to the report, only I.am’s air bag inflated and Cole hit something slightly less forgiving than the air bag – the dashboard. We’ll keep an eye out fir a cause if the accident here, but it’s doubtful that we will hear one.

If you have a knack for watching daytime TV, you likely know who Doctor Phil is. In fact, even if you don’t watch it, you likely know that he is the over opinionated and sometimes-controversial psychologist that hands out advice to random people on his show.

Little did we know that Dr. Phil is a car nut too, or at least he seems like one, thanks to the 1957 Bel Air convertible he owns. Unfortunately, someone obviously wanted it a little more than him, as the $100,000 drop top – yup, it’s actually worth at least that much on the high end – was the victim of a car thief at a local repair shop.

The Chevy was in the shop for repairing a no-start condition, which proves that the Doc is either too busy to fix it or knows nothing about automotive mechanics, as that should be a simple fix on this all-mechanical car. The police report states that the lock was hacked off of a garage door in the shop and the thief had a clean getaway.

The robber must have either been a mechanic and repaired the vehicle, had a tow truck, or had some help to push this large vehicle out of the shop and to its destination – likely a chop shop somewhere in the local Burbank, CA area.

The car should be relatively easy to spot, as it is a black convertible Bel Air with chrome wheels, wide-whitewall tires, gold badging, and red leather interior — similar to the one above. There is no reward listed, but we’re sure Phil would pony something up for the return of his $100K car.

Captain America: The First Avenger” was chock-full of loads of action, but one thing automotive junkies couldn’t get enough of was the triple-axle car that Red Skull – the villain – drove in the movie. Though a lot of the scenes in the movie that showed the car were computer-generated, there was actually a real-life example of this beast built, and we found a video showing it in all of its glory.

The Schmidt Hydra Coupe is touted in the movie as being powered by a V-16 Supercharged engine and fueled by a power cube. In real life, however, this massive machine boasted a V-8 Ford engine pulled from a drag car. Taking its styling from the Mercedes 540K , Mercedes G4 Offroader, various Bentleys and Duesenbergs, this tank on wheels is both retro and futuristic at the same time.

It measures in at a massive 7.62 meters (25 feet), boasts six wheels, which is thanks to it being based on a truck chassis. This massive hunk of car is draped in a high-gloss red paint, matching its owner’s skull, and features massive white-wall tires.

It’s a pretty impressive build for a one-off movie car and we’re sure to see it at an auction one day. We’ll have to keep a keen eye out for it, so we can get together all of the details for you.

Until then, enjoy the above video showing us various parts of this awesomely crafted vehicle.

The post-apocalyptic world of Mad Max is set to return to theaters for the first time since 1985 and while Mel Gibson will not be in the movie, the reins of Mad Max will be in good hands with Tom Hardy in Mad Max: Fury Road .

As a movie that’s set in a world unlike the one we live in, you can expect little semblance of normalcy and bountiful doses of unorthodox. One element about the franchise that has become a critical part in the story are the cars-of-choice. Surely, you’ll remember some of them, including the Mad Max Interceptor, the Yellow Pursuit, and the Night Rider. Well, the fourth installment of the franchise promises to offer heaps of automotive oddities.

A few production photos from the movie have already revealed some of the cars you’ll see in the movie and trust us, we had just as hard a time trying to describe them as you probably will. Nevertheless, our best descriptions include a porcupine-like heavy-load, construction vehicle, a classic vehicle with a larger chassis and suspension with what looks like guns where the driver’s side mirror used to be, and last but not least, some heavy metal Big Foots ready to trample everything on sight.

If these descriptions don’t paint a clear enough picture, you can check out the photos and see for yourself.

Philadelphia 76ers center Andrew Bynum - yeah, he’s not a Los Angeles Laker anymore - is a pretty tall dude at 7’0", but even with all that length, not to mention the bulk of being close to 300 lbs, the 24-year old certainly has a pretty strong affinity for top-of-the-line supercars.

As we previously showed in the last installment of Car and Athlete , athletes with this kind of financial security have become more adept at splurging their dollars on something as insatiably satisfying as a limited edition model. Andrew Bynum fits into this mold because the man is more than just a highly-paid basketball player; he’s got the garage to back it up too.

So have you ever wondered what kind of cars Bynum has in his garage? True to his reputation as one of the most popular auto enthusiasts in the world, Bynum’s list of cars run long and impressive.

Find out what kind of cars Andrew Bynum has tried to fit his seven-foot frame into after the jump.
