Lindsay Lohan was Not Permitted to Drive When She Crashed a Rented Porsche

Okay, there comes a time in a person’s life when they need to put the keys down and take the bus around town. That usually happens sometime around the age of 70 or 80 years old. You know, your vision deteriorates, your hearing is not what it once was, your reaction times are slower, etc., so it’s just time to give it up.

Well, Ms. LiLo (Lindsay Lohan to those non-TMZ readers) is not yet out of her 20s and it’s time to get rid of those keys. Just weeks after famously crashing a rented Porsche 911 , while forbidden to drive , she has yet again crashed. To boot, it is yet another Porsche. Okay, before we get all dramatic on you and say she mangled a test mule 918 hybrid , we’ll let you know that it was only a minor fender bender and the Porsche in question is just a Panamera and not a 911 .

According to the report, Lohan barely nipped a Ford Mustang , putting a minor scratch on it. The Mustang driver was told that Lohan was being chased by the paparazzi and that’s how she hit him. Fortunately, the Mustang driver seems more proud of the scratch than his car, as he said he would use the scratch as a selling point, by saying "You see that scratch right there? Lindsay Lohan hit my car and didn’t total it!"

Still, she is forbidden to drive by her employer’s insurance company. You know, the employer that is likely paying her in excess of $100K per episode to be in a series about Elizabeth Taylor’s rocky life. In addition, where did this girl learn how to drive? She is in several accidents every year and they are almost always – or at least appear to be – her fault.

On behalf of all drivers on the road, we would like to request that Lindsay Lohan find her way to the closest bicycle store and purchase a nice 10-speed to get her around.

For most Americans, if you mention “Fall Guy” and “Volkswagen Amarok,” they have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. The former was a rather unpopular TV show that ran from November 4, 1981 through May 2, 1986 featuring a stuntman turned bounty hunter named Colt Seaver and the latter is a pickup truck that Volkswagen offers only in the European market. When you put the two together, you get the Volkswagen Amarok Colt Seaver Edition.

In the series, Colt Seaver drove a beat up 1980 GMC Sierra that was put through many suspension-breaking stunts and, much like General Lee on the Dukes of Hazzard, the Sierra never showed any signs of wear. Well, the theme of this one-off Amarok is the Sierra that Seaver beat the heck out of.

The Amarok Colt Seaver Edition receives its power from a 1,968 cc 4-pot engine that cranks out 163 PS (160 horsepower) at 4,000 rpm and 400 Nm (295 pound-feet) of torque at 1,500 to 2,000 rpm. What makes it like the Sierra that Seaver beat around is the fact that it boasts the same tan-on-brown paint scheme, brush bar, roll bar, and light bar that the Sierra boasted – scaled down to meet the Amarok’s compact size, of course. It also boasts a rather large “Fall Guy Stuntman Assoc” decal on its hood.

The truck itself actually looks rather neat with its lift kit, all-terrain tires, and classic paint job, but to name a special edition truck after a relatively unknown TV series from the `80s is strange. This becomes especially strange when you consider that the dealership building this truck is asking €51,695 ($62,700 at the current exchange rates) for it, which is just shy of three times the Amarok’s base price.

Here you go, take that ridiculous decal off of the hood and strip all ties to the TV show and it just may be worth the cash.

The Dark Knight Rises has been heating up cinemas for the past few days, so it seems only fitting that with the last part of the trilogy in cinemas today, we take a look at one of the most enduring stars of the famed DC super hero movie franchise. No, we’re not talking about Alicia Silverstone’s Batgirl character from Batman and Robin. What we’re referring to is the Batmobile, the Dark Knight’s very own ride-of-choice.

In this section though, we’re going to pay tribute - we use that word loosely - to the five worst Batmobile replicas we’ve ever seen. Some are more eye-cringing than the others, but rest assured, none of them would pass the standards of Bruce Wayne.

Heck, we don’t even think the Joker would be caught dead riding in one of these so-called Batmobiles.

So here it is, folks. Prepare to cringe, laugh, or whatever emotion these pictures will do to you.

Automotive Legend Carroll Shelby dies at 89

After we lost racing and general automotive legend, Carroll Shelby on May 10th, a squabble ensued over his remains. His estranged wife, Cleo, claimed that she had the rights to his remains and the documentation that his children had, which requested that he be cremated and his ashes split between his children and his burial plot in Texas, was forged.

According to reports, Shelby had filed for an annulment of the marriage, citing that his wife had lied about her background and even her name, just before he died. Unfortunately, the annulment was not awarded posthumously, so it appeared as if the only other way to settle the dispute was in court.

Fortunately, the two sides managed to keep the case out of court by coming to an agreement on Monday and Mr. Shelby’s body will be laid to rest in the way that he requested, except for one minor compromise. The minor compromise is the fact that his estranged wife gets part of his ashes.

We’re glad to hear that the issue is settled, though we would have preferred to see his wife completely cut out of it. The most important thing, however, is that the issue is done and this legend can now be laid to rest peacefully and his children can hold their heads high that their father was laid to rest in the way he requested, though his son Michael says that they are still not happy with the results.

Way back in 1983, we all knew and loved a far less creepy and odd-acting Tom Cruise, who was best known for movies like "Top Gun" and "Risky Business," and less known for being love-drunk crazy on the Oprah Winfrey Show. In the 1983 Warner Brothers’ classic, “Risky Business,” Tom Cruise’s character, Joel Goodsen, drove a gold-colored Porsche 928. Now the Profiles in History auction group is offering up the car that Cruise drove on the set for auction.

Actually, there were three cars driven on set, but this 1979 928 saw far more screen time and seat time with Cruise than the other two drive cars. We know that the 1979 Porsche 928 is one of the least desirable Porsches ever built, falling just short in undesirability to the 924, but c’mon, Tom – freaking – Cruise learned how to drive a stick shift in this car.

So, how has this car held up after Cruise was finished burning up, err, learning to use the clutch? What is a car like this selling for? Is it really worth my money?

For the answers to these questions and more, you’ll have to click past the jump to read our review.

Ron Howard has been more involved with racing in the last year than he probably ever expected he would. He just completed filming his movie based on F1 drivers James Hunt and Niki Lauda, which included plenty of racing, to say the least, including a controlled recreation of Lauda’s famed Nürburgring crash.

Now Howard is taking a hands-on approach to racing, as he has agreed to drive in a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race. No, he’s not hopping behind the wheel of a racecar, but rather he is hopping in the BigMachineRecords.com pace car and leading the way to the start/finish line.

Jeff Belskus made it clear that Howard’s involvement in the filming of “Rush ” had a lot to do with NASCAR inviting Howard to drive the pace car when he said “Ron has become immersed in motorsports’ culture and history through the filming of ’Rush,’ so he’s an ideal person to pace the field for one of NASCAR’s biggest races at ’The Greatest Race Course in the World.”

So, the moral of this story is that if you are not skilled enough to make it into NASCAR, just take a left turn into the filmmaking business – that has to be easier to get into than NASCAR – make a movie about racing, and watch the pace car invites come rolling in. Easy enough, right? Yeah, that’s called sarcasm...

We wish Ron the best and hope he has a safe journey around the track. You can catch Howard in his pace car on Sunday, July 29th.

Last year, rapper Flo Rida was charged with driving under the influence while in his $1.7 million Bugatti Veyron . Back then, he had his license suspended, but it seems that now the rapper is getting ready to get behind the wheel again. His Bugatti Veyron has just been wrapped in chrome by Metro Wrapz. The chrome wrap has been combined with a silver stripe going from the black hood to the back of the vehicle. This one small modifications probably just increased the price of his car to about $2 million. Must be nice.

The Bugatti Veyron probably didn’t need this update in order for it to be noticed, but it looks like Flo Rida really likes shiny things. Let’s just hope he won’t be tempted to test the car’s top speed on the streets!

Lindsay Lohan was Not Permitted to Drive When She Crashed a Rented Porsche

So there have been a few new details to emerge about Lindsay Lohan’s rented Porsche turned derby car since we last paid the story a visit, so we figured we should package it all up nice and neat, and let you know what’s up.

It all begins with Lohan driving a Porsche 911 , which was rented, to the studio where her newest TV show was being filmed. In the process, she managed to position the front end of this beautiful piece of German engineering firmly under the tail end of a semi-truck. Shortly after that, we found out that the insurance company insuring the TV show she is in strictly prohibits her from driving while the show is being filmed, thanks to her many run ins with the boys in blue while behind the wheel.

TMZ, our leading informant on this topic, then dug up a report that Lohan was claiming that the brakes on this nearly brand new Porsche failed to stop the car when the 18-wheeler [ahem] “cut her off.” So it couldn’t have been her fault, right?

It just so happens that Porsche decided that it needed to find out what was wrong with the brakes on this flagship sports car, so Porsche investigators called up the rental company that owns the car and had it shipped to a testing facility so the investigators can check the brakes. The investigators tested every inch of the braking system trying to find the root cause of his high-profile Porsche smash-up job.

There was just one problem with the tests... The brakes passed all of Porsche’s tests with flying colors! So, now Lohan is caught in a boldface lie and has officially garnered a large portion of our attention to see what kind of boneheaded excuse she can come up with next.

As we said before, we highly doubt that this is the end of this story and we anticipate a lot more information coming out soon. As soon as we get wind of anything else, we’ll let you know.

Rapper extraordinaire Missy Elliot has had her eye on a Lamborghini Aventador for quite some time and last year, she made the leap and purchased a matte white version of the Italian supercar at an Illinois car dealership.

The problem is, it’s been at least six months and Missy Elliot has yet to get her hands on the Aventador. So she did what anybody would do in her position: she filed a lawsuit against Fox Valley Motor Cars.

According to the lawsuit that was first reported by TMZ, Missy Elliot made a down payment of $30,000 in cash, as well as ponied up her 2005 Bentley that was valued at $85,000. As part of the agreement, the dealership would then ship her $376,000 Aventador at this point of the year. The dealership is now not holding up their end of the bargain because the car’s market value has increased and thus, would cost more than the rapper initially thought.

Missy Elliot’s calling foul and has now turned to the legal system to get her Aventador. On top of that, she’s suing the dealership for breach of contract, a move that shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone who believes they got shafted by somebody after an agreement was already in place.

For somebody who earns as much money as Missy Elliott, you would think that something like this would be settled before it got leaked to the press. But hey, sometimes you have to stand your ground, especially if somebody’s trying to pull a fast one on you, and let them work out their own problems. Not good publicity, Fox. Not good at all.

Former porn star, err, “adult film star,” Jenna Jameson hasn’t made a new flick in many years, but we are fairly certain there are plenty of her classics circulating the computer screens of men everywhere. Well, it looks like her exit from “the industry” hasn’t treated her too well, as she was stuck leasing a Maserati Quattroporte S back in 2010.

Leasing of this luxury auto is not the story though; the real story is that she hasn’t paid the $2,299 lease payment since January. Using our crack mathematical skills, that puts her six months behind and owing $13,794 in late payments.

According to a report by TMZ, the finance company, Maserati Financial Services, attempted to repo the circa $130,000 425-horsepower sedan, but were apparently unsuccessful. Now MFS is outright suing Jameson to return the vehicle and pay an astronomical $107,000 in damages.

We are a little intrigued by the $107K in damages. What kind of damages has MFS undergone from not being able to repo a $130,000 car? We understand suing for the $13,794 in back payments, late fees, and even suing for fruitless repo fees, but what else could possibly add up to that number? Plus, if Jameson can’t afford to pay a $2,300 car payment, what make MFS think it can possibly milk $107,000 out of the ex-actress? We also have to ask, who leases a car anymore?

We’ll keep an eye on this one for you and let you know when we get any more details, as they are a little scarce right now.
