The Chevy Cruze is based on GM’s global Delta II platfrom and was designed in South Korea. It was launched in India with a 2-litre diesel engine which it shares with the Chevrolet Captiva. The Cruze is the fastest diesel sedan in its segment and comes with a 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox. It competes with the Skoda Laura, VW Jetta, Toyota Corolla Altis, Renault Fluence, Honda
Civic and Hyundai Sonata.
So this is what happens when you allow engineers to do whatever they please. Left alone with the new Chevrolet Cruze , they began to make sweet music with different areas of the new sedan that will look to put General Motors back into the midsize segment.
If you’re interested in watching a few engineers clown around, but at the same time see how stuff works, than this video is for you. From the doors to the trunk to the wipers, nothing is off limits to these guys.
Apparently, the video was shot at the Milford Proving Grounds in what looks to be a bunker. It also looks as if the video is attempting to show us that the Cruze has sensational build quality, unlike previous GM sedans. It’s a pretty good attempt, as the video is entertaining and informative at the same time.

The leading lady in talk show history, Oprah Winfrey, has declared today National No Phone Zone Day with a special episode of her self-titled, award-winning talk show dedicated solely on this subject. The No Phone Zone campaign started a few months ago and has snowballed into a worldwide effort to stop the use of cell phones in motor vehicles. Today, Chevrolet has joined the effort providing funding for 400 PSAs dedicated to this campaign. Chevrolet will take it one step further and encourage the 77,000 General Motors employees in the U.S. to take the “No Phone Zone” pledge.
“We are proud to help Oprah raise awareness of the risks of distracted driving,” said Jim Campbell, U.S. Vice President Chevrolet Marketing. “The ‘No Phone Zone’ campaign fits our own mission to keep Chevrolet drivers, and their loved ones, as safe as possible while on the road. That’s why every Chevrolet is designed to offer peace-of-mind, with technologies to help drivers avoid crashes, and features to protect occupants in the event of a crash.”

The Chevrolet Cruze is a car that was created for everyday use, so sportiness is a word that doesn’t define it. Fortunately for Cruze owners, the German tuner, Irmscher, revealed a tuning package for the sedan this past weekend.
The tuner started with a few changes under the hood. Thanks to a new suspension and new exhaust silencers with elliptical twin exits, the 2.0 liter turbo diesel engine develops a total of 186HP and 466Nm at 2,300 rpm compared to the 113-141hp produced by the standard Chevy Cruze.
The package also includes: an optional boot lid spoiler, 18" alloy wheels with 225 sport tires and aluminum door sills.
Ever wonder what kind of painstaking labor goes with the production of a competition-ready World Touring Car Championship racer?
At the very least, preparations take about a few weeks to turn something like a Chevrolet Cruze into a high-powered, sticker-obsessed production car. The crew at Ray Mallock Ltd., however, can do it in just under two minutes.
Ok, that’s an exaggerated exaggeration, but this time-lapse video of the Mallock crew working on the Cruze illustrates the whole process of building a touring car in under two minutes. If you’re going to watch it, we advise you not to blink because there’s a pretty good chance that you might miss out on something pretty important.
You’ll never mistake a professional sports athlete for having a good head on the world of art, let alone make the art themselves.
Retired England cricket captain Michael Vaughan wants you to know that it does happen and he’d be all too happy to show you that he’s exhibit number 1.
After retiring from playing cricket, Vaughan has found a new way to spend his post-playing days by becoming a self-proclaimed art-baller, which, if you don’t know, constitutes to hitting paint-soaked cricket balls at blank canvases until he finds an ‘image’ that he’s happy with.
General Motors seems to have taken a liking on Vaughan’s work that they commissioned him to make an art-ball-inspired Chevrolet Cruze . From what we’ve read, the entire project took about eight hours to make and used up about five gallons of paint. Vaughan even takes time to describe the whole process on how he became interested in art-ball and also gives us a close look at the man in cricket-swinging action.

Chevrolet is entering the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) with two Silverline Chevrolet Cruze. The cars will be prepared by the Wellingborough-based RML team, which also looks after Chevrolet’s WTCC Cruze.
"The Cruze has already shown itself to be a superb racing car in the World Touring Car Championship," said Chevrolet Managing Director, Mark Terry. "So the decision to enter it in the most high profile series in the UK was made much easier. We’re looking forward to an exciting season, and one that will raise the profile of both the Chevrolet brand, and the style and dynamic appeal of the Cruze – a car that has already proven to be a success both on and off the track."
