Throughout the many years the Corvette->ke1280 has been in existence, it has maintained its reputation for being a classic sports car. Each generation has passed, adding more power and an altered design, but what happens when you want to take a classic Corvette and give it a modern twist? This is where a dedicated team can step in to restore and upgrade the veteran vehicle into the masterpiece it was intended to be. Now, there have been plenty of restored and upgraded vehicles in our time, but this particular project stands out because of the particular vehicle undergoing the transformation: a 1958 Chevrolet->ke199 Corvette Roadster.

The updated and restored Corvette took three years to complete, but the final product is a vehicle that stays true to its history. The custom Spectrum turquoise vehicle is all Corvette - not leftover parts from random sports cars - and is even powered by a modern Corvette LT1 Generation II 350 that develops an impressive 420 HP (an impressive update over the first generation 283 HP), mated to a 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission.

The 1958 Corvette Roadster LT1 700R4 Pro Touring is now available for sale at RK Motors for a price of $119,900 - an impressive offer considering the car is typically estimated at over $200K.

Exterior and Interior

We're not sure who has owned this vehicle over the span of fifty years since its production, but it took the restoration team three years to get this thing live and kicking. To start everything off, the team had to unbolt the car from its frame and sodium blast it to remove all factory defects and accrued damage from the 50 years of its existence. A new custom fabricated, gloss black SR3 Motorsports frame was then put in for a modern touch. After that, the Corvette was painted in a custom Spectrum Color developed turquoise color combined with the traditional white door coves of the original Corvette. The restored sportscar also comes with a custom color matched turquoise vinyl top with a glass window that flows into a trunk featuring 1958 specific chrome spears. The interior features a special leather that also pays tribute to the original design with some thoughtful modern upgrades. The original seats are combined with a white dash, a smaller diameter aluminum Grant steering wheel wrapped with a color matched turquoise rim, and a the Lokar transmission shifter.

Engine

Under the hood, there is a modern Corvette LT1 Generation II 350 engine that features a cast iron block, aluminum heads, and electronic fuel injection.
