Ringbrothers are responsible for some of the coolest resto-mod projects the tuning market has to offer. Be it the 1965 Ford Mustang Blizzard or the 1970 Chevrolet Camaro Diversion, Ringbrothers' recent builds are arguably amongst the finest automotive works of art. Enormous horsepower, tastefully reshaped bodies and modern underpinnings make any classic muscle car->ke507 with a Ringbrothers badge a prized collectible. Not surprising, these cars auction for big bucks. Last time we heard anything about the Wisconsin-based company, it brought the stunning 1971 De Tomaso Pantera ADRNLN to the 2013 SEMA Show->ke216. Nearly a year has passed, and Ringbrothers have yet another project on its hands.

This time around, the tuning shop is breathing new life into a 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle. The muscle car is being built for lubricant manufacturer Royal Purple, who plans to introduce four new products alongside the beefed-up Chevelle. It's all scheduled to happen on November 4th, the first day of the 2014 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. Meanwhile, let's have a look at what the Ringbrothers have in store for this 1966 Chevelle.

Chevrolet Chevelle By Ringbrothers in detail

Details are slim as of this writing, but it appears there's plenty to get excited about with this custom Chevelle. The classic muscle car will benefits from the same Ringbrothers treatment we've seen on past projects. A sketch depicting the car's front end is all we have for now, but it's enough to spot some of the details surrounding this Chevelle's new body kit. A larger, aluminum front bumper replaces the vehicle's classic, chrome piece, while a bulged hood enables the custom engine to breathe freely. Naturally, a new suspension kit will drop the Chevelle's ride height by a few inches, with wide and most likely slick tires to provide the necessary grip. After all, Royal Purple is getting a race-ready rig.

Expect a bespoke cockpit with plenty of aluminum and carbon-fiber parts to replace the standard interior.

As far as the engine is concerned, Royal Purple says the Chevelle is in for a Wegner Motorsports, LS7 V-8 rated at nearly 1,000 horsepower. Holy cow! The 2014 SEMA Show can't come soon enough.

1966 Chevrolet Chevelle

The first-generation Chevrolet Chevelle debuted for the 1964 model year, and by 1966, it had already established itself as a strong contender in the midsize segment. Its main competitor was the Ford Fairlane.

Several engine options were available in 1966, ranging from the tiny 3.2-liter inline-six to the 6.5-liter, big-block V-8. The latter developed 375 horsepower in its range-topping trim, which came with an SS396 badge. 1966 also marked the introduction of a restyled body that remained untouched until the 1968 model year, when the third-generation model hit the scene.
