The folks over at Ultimate Auto are known for modifying a host of vehicles ranging from SUVs->ke145 such as the Range Rover Sport to sports cars->ke506 like the McLaren MP4-12C. They've been working on an enormous amount of muscle cars->ke507 too, but their recent Camaro->ke248 project surpasses anything they've created so far.

Unlike the stock-looking ZL1 project car the tuner built last year, the "Ultimate Sixty Seven" Camaro that just rolled out of their shop has undergone extensive modifications, gaining a unique 'restomod'-like appearance that blends modern and classic cues together.

As the name suggests, this pony was built as an tribute to the almighty 1967 Chevrolet Camaro, a muscle car specifically built to take on the popular Ford Mustang->ke428, but with a modern touch. And as you might have already guessed, it took a lot of effort to modify the body of a first-gen Camaro to make it suitable for hand-built parts and accessories, as well as interior and powertrain modifications.

Nothing remained unchanged on this vehicle, with Ultimate Auto performing some extensive metal and carbon-fiber surgery and making use of several 1967 and 1969 Camaro parts to obtain the final result. Even the drivetrain was ditched and replaced with a supercharged GM->ke1024 LS9 engine mated to a Tremec T-56 transmission.

Performance figures haven't been revealed, but judging by the engine's name and the tweaks provided by Mast Motorsports we must be looking at something beyond the 700-horsepower mark.

Chevrolet Camaro "Ultimate Sixty Seven" By Ultimate Auto in detail

The sexy, widened fenders you're looking at have been crafted by hand in order for them to fit the fat front 265/30-20 and rear 355/25-21 tires. To give the vehicle a proper 21st century look, a carbon-fiber splitter has been fitted under the bespoke grille and LED headlamps, while the roof was covered in the same material.

Around back, a carbon-fiber diffuser sits below the 1967-style gas filler and the inverted 1969 Camaro taillights. To round off the exterior in a flashy manner, Ultimate Auto applied a coat of BASF R-M Carizzma "Ruthless Red."

The interior, consisting mostly of 2013 Camaro parts, was wrapped in light brown Italian leather. Everything but the center console, dashboard, front seats and steering wheel were hand fabricated to mimic a 2013 Camaro but fit into a 1967 model. A custom gauge and carbon-fiber inlays complete the landscape.
