2004 Chevrolet SSR Push Truck

  Review

The Chevrolet SSR Bonneville Push Truck, which will be used as a push truck for the 2004 Bonneville Salt Flat Speed Record, will make its public debut at the 2004 Hot Rod Power Tour.

The truck was developed by GM Performance in collaboration with the SoCal Speed Shop. A trademark SoCal paint scheme covers the exterior of the SSR in bold red and white colors with composite rocker extensions.

Under the louver hood-mounted air inlet sits a developmental GM Powertrain, Gen IV 6.0-liter aluminum V-8 mated to a six-speed manual transmission. MagnaFlow provides the cat-back exhaust system equipped with aluminum exhaust tips. The SoCal Muroc aluminum alloy wheels are 19 inches in the front and 20 inches in the rear. The custom interior features special edition graphics and a brushed aluminum belt line trim.

Normally I hate the SSR but this model, from the sounds of the engine I couldn’t ignore it. I don’t mind this one.
