Exterior and Interior

We can't say that Lingenfelter paid much attention to the exterior or the interior of the Camaro SS. The tuning firm's focus was mainly on powering out the muscle car. They did, however, manage to apply a black powder coat finish and a set of CCW three piece aluminum wheels to the vehicle.

Engine Update

Here is where the Indiana-based company put their heart and soul on the line. Lingenfelter removed the V8 engine and added a GM LS9 Eaton TVS2300 supercharged engine to be able to blow the roof off of anyone who had the chance to take a seat inside of the muscle car. After that it was all about controlling the power and providing parts to listen to the beautiful music coming out of the engine. To do this, Lingenfelter added JE pistons, CNC ported heads with OEM titanium intake valves, and sodium filled hollow step exhaust valves. After that came the Lingenfelter GT9 supercharger camshaft, Comp cams, 2.38" supercharger pulley, 102mm throttle body, long tube headers, a two-stage dry nitrous system, and twin fuel pumps.

Pricing

This is where the old saying, "You get what you pay for" comes into effect. The full package price is $38,393.00, but you can also add a chrome supercharger case for $1,000.00. If you want to convert the L99 to an LS3, it's going to cost you $1,324.00, and aluminum coil covers painted according to the vehicle's body color and with LPE logos will run $599.00.

The Competition

When it comes to tuning a Camaro, there are plenty of options to choose from. Of course, the only ones we can think of that would even come close to the package provided by Lingenfelter are Hennessey's tuning packages.

Hennessey offers its customers three different packages to choose from: the HPE600, HPE700 and HPE800 with the number of ponies stated right in the title. These packages do not even begin to touch the 1,234 horsepowered monster that is the Camaro LS9, but at least they add some extra zing to the Camaro, as well as some extra styling on the exterior.
