We don’t care who you are; everyone has to love the Camaro Z28. This gorgeous piece of machinery looks and sounds like a dream and now Chevrolet has gone and made it even better. How much better, we don’t know yet, but luckily we have the artistic abilities of Jon Sibal on every car lover’s side. Sibal has prepared a rendering of the muscle car classic using all of the rumored characteristics the 2012 Camaro will most likely receive. Thanks to him, we are all getting a piece of drool-worthy treasure to gaze at. The 2012 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 will feature a 6.2L LSA V8 engine, even though the Corvette ZR1’s 638 hp LS9 was cruising around the rumor mill for awhile. The awesome news regarding the new Camaro’s engine is that it will more than likely feature more than the 556hp found in the Cadillac CTS-V. Stooping power will come from the 6-piston front and 4-piston rear calipers. The Camaro Z28 will get a more aggressive front end and a larger bubble on the hood to make room for the supersized engine. The front fascia will sit a little lower than the previous model and the muscle car will also get larger air intakes. The back of the car will receive a quad exhaust with dual pipes on each side. For an added edge, the Camaro will get 20″ SP550 anodized black (20×10 in the front and 20×11 in the rear) wrapped in Goodyear tires. We know we’ve said this before, but we can’t wait! Updated 12/06/2010: The Camaro Z28 has been confirmed by people "familiar with the plans." According to Freep, the Camaro Z28 will be launched late next year or early in 2012, with an engine that will likely displace 6.2 liters and will deliver between 500 and 600 HP. However, that’s about all we know because GM spokesman, Pat Morrissey, said the company does not comment on future vehicle plans. Updated 01/13/2011: Camaro5 reports that the Camaro Z28 will enter production on January 1, 2012. The model is referred to as the "HP Edition" model and will feature: 6.2 liter supercharged engine, Magnetic Ride suspension and 285F / 330R tires. Updated 01/25/2011: EgmCarTech reports that the Camaro Z28 will make its world debut in just a few days at the Chicago Auto Show. More precisely on February 9th. .
27 comments: Chevrolet Camaro Z28 may have a bump in output compared to the Cadillac CTS-V which uses the same LSA V8 engine (LSA engine verified by spy photography). This is mostly speculated due to the 2011 Shelby GT500 having 550hp.
I guess they stuck the piece of paper on the dash in case someone forgets what they’re driving. To me, that’s not good...because if you are testing something like that you should have no doubt what you’re driving.

This new Camaro Z28 super charge 6.2L is going to be more than monster. I’m sure this new Z28 will be able to handle the Shelby GT500 easily.
agree, everybody loves camaro, like me, but too bad even it has the horses, still the GT-R can easily smoke this baby.
Yeah, I think the idea was the new models would be more sustainable and a nod towards global pressure to help improve the environment. I guess GM thinks that launching muscle cars while Rome burns isn’t a prudent move.
