2012 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Ron Fellows SEMA/Spring Mountain Special Edition

During September, most people in the automotive world are focused on the Frankfurt Motor Show and the many tasty treats ready to hit the floor, but in Bowling Green, Kentucky their focus was the induction of former Corvette Racing Driver, Ron Fellows, into the Corvette Hall of Fame. The National Corvette Museum’s 17th Annual Labor Day celebration took place over the 2011 Labor Day weekend and when Ron Fellows showed up for his induction ceremony, a bright red 2012 Corvette Z06 "Spring Mountain Special Edition" was there waiting for him.

The Z06 "Spring Mountain Special Edition" features many of the options available on the 2012 model, including the full body, white racing stripes and the carbon fiber hood. Other Corvette model elements were also borrowed including the Centennial Edition’s black wheels with the red stripe and seats with the special “100 Years” embroidery; and the custom Grand Sport hash marks reminiscent of the 2007 Ron Fellows Z06 which also had the Canadian Maple Leaf seen on this model.

The special edition was further customized for the Hall-of-Famer with a reworked carbon graphic displaying Ron Ron ’s Corvette Racing Number 3 and the words "Hall of Fame," as well as graphics from Mosport Raceway - a Canadian Track that Fellows co-owns - and the Ron Fellows Performance driving school.

Considering its name - SEMA/Spring Mountain Special Edition - we fully expect this special edition to show up at the 2011 SEMA Auto Show in November, but the vehicle may also be used at the Ron Fellows Performance Driving School at Spring Mountain Raceway outside of Las Vegas.

UPDATE 10/27/2011: Chevrolet has finally unveiled the official details on the Corvette Z06 Ron Fellows ‘Hall of Fame’ Tribute - or Corvette Z06 Ron Fellows SEMA Edition as it was first announced. "This Torch Red show car honors Fellows’ service behind the wheel, using accessories offered from Chevrolet matched with custom graphics. It’s a fitting salute to one of the fastest men ever to drive a Corvette." Hit the jump for the full list of highlights.

This red sports car is really amazing. But the design is actually not that good for this powerful car.

Wow! Too much highlights on this car! Really amazing.

Talkin’ about race car? Better take a look at this Corvette, very aerodynamic style.

Yeah! Moreover, I must say that it is the most good-looking corvette that I ever saw! I’m so fascinated with the graphics of it even on the style and shape of its front headlight.

It looks so different from the other Corvette vehicle that I saw today, and I have to agree that it looks more attractive and lovely than on them. Well, I just only hope that its powertrain is also powerful and impressive for it.

The most impressive corvette car! I love the over-all features of this vehicle, especially its cool headlamps and wheels. I’m also glad that it can offer a very comfortable interior. smiley

I love the sweet and cute front design of this Corvette. It looks so cool on that! smiley Anyway, the graphic design that it had been is truly looking very striking on it, I just only hope that it had also an impressive engine.

This one, is one of the muscled cars that I’m sure can get lots of attention. smiley Furthermore, I have to agree that the white racing stripes on this one, is only adding more awesomeness on this one.

For the fact that it comes from Chevrolet, you can rest assured BenBoston that it will have a truly nice engine specification. smiley Anyway, I just noticed that its white racing stripe is looking so awesome on it!

I bet everyone will get noticed that this Chevrolet Corvette is absolutely a good looking muscled car. I just only hope that they will use an impressive engine for this one that can deliver a powerful horsepower.

They were right, that this corvette of Chevrolet is really a good-looking muscled car, and I noticed that it looks so massive on that platform and even on its wheels. Well, I hope that it also had a striking engine.

This corvette absolutely looks well and awesome on its aesthetic design but just like them, I am expecting this one to be more special and can offer many awesome features for the fact that it is a special edition.

It looks too huge for a sports car but despite that I can say that it is still very striking most especially on that body paint, but I’m quite curious on its engine performance?

Super customized car, definitely have the best features. Painted in a creative design. This formerly sure one of the outstanding sports car. Well I actually expect the best in this edition.

I am really impressed to this car because of the performance. The performance of thsi car is crazy and the style of this car is great. Good combination of color.

Well, I have to say that I’m really impressed with the speed performance of the Corvette. I have a doubt on the special edition for I think it has nothing more to offer. It seems that I need to wait for the full detail of this vehicle.

Corvette is one of the high end and high speed performing vehicle in the lined up of the Chevrolet. I think this version has been requested by the possible buyer before the opening of the last year’s event of SEMA. Well, seems that they are unveiling this vehicle in the Frankfurt.
