Renowned Chevrolet Corvette->ke1280 tuner SuperVettes is hard at work building its next project for the new Corvette Stingray. If there's anything to go by the promises of SuperVettes owner Jason Hunkler, this project is shaping up to be the best widebody kit made for the American sports car->ke506.

It's a task that's far easier said than done given the current availability of a multitude of programs for the Corvette Stingray. But Hunkler remains steadfast in the awesomeness of the SV7 kit his company is building for the Corvette, telling the C7 Stingray forum that the kit "will rival the looks of the Corvette Z06" and will come with an engine modification that will be "beyond the standard specs of the new Z06."

Clearly, the man isn't lacking confidence and with it. Hunkler even released a rendering of the new SV7 program. One look at it and you can immediately tell that the front section of the Corvette will take on a completely modified look. We're quite not sure if the angle of the rendering plays a part in it, but those wheel arches look pretty huge from our vantage point. The headlights do retain their configuration but there's also something about the vented hood that looks different, like there's a little more vertically to it than the standard Z06.

This is par for the course for an aftermarket company that has given us some pretty wild programs over the years. Can you remember the SV8.R C7 aero kit the company unveiled late last year to a limited production? That kit cost $59,995, not including the donor car, but if you saw the finished product, you probably would've paid for one, too.

It's reasonable to expect great things for SuperVettes' SV7 program. There's definitely a lot going on with it. And hey, anytime you have guys doing 3D scanning on anything, as the photos below will tell you, you know it's being done for a reason.

Therein lies the appeal of the SV7 program. Even if its far from complete, we can appreciate the fact that SuperVettes is essentially taking us on a step-by-step guide on how to build it. By the time the SV7 is completed, there's a good chance that we'll already know how the kit came to life.

For now, though, it's still a waiting game until the car makes its debut later this year.

Chevrolet Corvette Z06

The 2015 Corvette Z06 made its world debut at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show. Just like with all the other Z06 models, it offers a more aggressive exterior look, a more powerful engine, high-performance suspension and a new, high-performance brake system.

The Z06 is powered by an all-new LT4 6.2-liter, supercharged V-8 engine that delivers more than 625 horsepower and 635 pound-feet of torque. The engine is mated to a standard seven-speed manual transmission with Active Rev Match.

No details were revealed on the car’s performance figures, but we expect the Z06 to go from 0 to 60 mph in just about 3.4 seconds, while top speed will be somewhere in the 200 mph area.
