Staying true to the fact that they have become the official supplier for ECU upgrades, aero kits, brakes, exhaust systems, and a few other modifications for Saab models on the US market, Hirsch Performance has unveiled one of the projects they have been working on. The Saab 9-3 sedan by Hirsch Performance has been unveiled at the 2011 Chicago Auto Show featuring some pretty impressive little extras on it interior and exterior.

The specific model revealed at the show received a 30 HP upgrade, but that is only one of the options provided by Hirsch. Crack open a Saab 9-3 with a 2.8 Turbo V6 engine and Hirsch can pump it up to 300hp (up from 276 HP). Other engine setups can get updates from 140hp to 300hp.

The exterior wasn’t left untouched as Hirsch Performance is offering a rear spoiler, a carbon fiber body kit with a front splitter and rear diffuser, a four-piece mesh grille set, and a new set of 19" 6-Twin alloy wheels to give the Saab’s look a bit of spunk.

Depending on how much money the customer is willing to spend, Hirsch Performance can customize your Saab in every which way imaginable.

After being revealed at Barrett Jackson in 2010 as a celebration of the original 1965 Shelby GT350’s 45th anniversary, the 2012 GT350 made its world debut at the 2011 Chicago Auto Show.

The GT350 model is based on the most current Ford Mustang GT and is priced at $26,995.00 (normally aspirated) and $33,995.00 (supercharged). The price, however, doesn’t include the base car which will tack on another $22,000 - $40,000 depending on your preferences.

A convertible version is a welcomed change for 2012 considering the last convertible to be offered was back in 1970. Red and blue will also get added to the list of exterior colors which will make the limited run of 350 models sell out as fast as water in the desert.

The most unique aspect of these powerful Mustangs is that Shelby has been such an integral part of Ford, but managed to remain a separate company. The Shelby Shelby Corporation designs parts and works in conjunction with Ford on some projects, but also designs and sells its own models like the legendary Shelby Cobra.

True to its promise of reinventing itself for the new year, Dodge is coming to the 2011 Chicago Auto Show with a roster of R/T edition models, one of which is the hulking mass of power, the Dodge Durango R/T. Joining the Durango R/T at show will be four other R/T models, including the Charger R/T, the Challenger R/T, the Grand Caravan R/T, and the Journey R/T. Incidentally, the last two models are the first of its line to be outfitted with Dodge’s road & track setup.

Similar to the Durango Heat revealed earlier, the Durango R/T comes with a bevy of aesthetic improvements and performance modifications. Essentially, both the Durango R/T and the Durango Heat are the same models except for one pretty important aspect: engine performance. Regardless of the different powertrains, Dodge has set high expectations for both the Durango R/T and the Durango Heat within the full-size SUV segment.

At the Chicago Auto Show, we’ll get a pretty good idea on whether these two gnarly machines are up to the task.

It’s a new year for Dodge and the American automaker is determined to start the year off on the right foot. At the 2011 Chicago Auto Show, Dodge will be unveiling a new and affordable performance package for the 2011 Durango , one that will henceforth be called the Dodge Durango Heat.

Though it doesn’t come with the same HEMI powertrain of the performance-oriented Durango R/T, the Durango Heat does come with some attractive features of its own. First is an aggressive styling that underlies its inner beast. Then there’s the new Pentastar V6 engine, which, despite its less powerful engine compared to its R/T alter ego, promises to make up for it in terms of fuel efficiency.

According to Ralph Giles, Dodge’s president and CEO, the Durango Heat "is about handling performance and a street presence that puts the sport in sport-utility."

Wiser words have never been spoken.

How many car models can lay claim to having sold 900,000 units in its lifetime? Not a lot, that much we can tell you.

So when the Mazda MX-5 Miata reached the unfathomable number of 900,000 cars sold, it only seemed right to build a special edition model of the Miata to commemorate this historic milestone. That’s exactly what Mazda did.

Scheduled to debut that the Chicago Auto Show, the Mazda MX-5 Miata Special Edition is the Japanese automaker’s way of giving thanks to the 900,000 – and counting – owners of the MX-5, all of whom are responsible in allowing the Japanese sports car to reach such unprecedented sales heights.

The special edition Miata will only be limited to 750 units, which means that all the models will most likely be swept up faster than you can say “Zoom, Zoom”. But if you just happen to be one of the 750 early birds, you’re going to get a chance to catch a pretty special, limited run worm and on a bigger scale, be a key contributor to Mazda’s drive for 1 million MX-5 Miatas sold.

There are just far too many pro’s in this proposition so we suggest that you keep tabs on when Mazda will begin taking orders for the special edition MX-5 and burn the phonelines to get yourself a piece when it does.

The steam is running out on the launch of Lexus’ CT 200h, so what better way to keep up the pace than to bring out a special Lexus CT200h hybrid concept designed by Five Axis? This particular tuner knows a thing or two about tuning Lexus models simply because they are well known for the partnership they have with Toyota Toyota and Lexus. So far, we only have a sketch of the concept revealed by Five Axis, but it allows us to get an idea of the special vehicle that is scheduled to be revealed at the 2011 Chicago Auto Show in just a few days!

The Lexus CT 200h by Five Axis will be showcasing some serious custom aerodynamics, a Tein suspension, 19-inch wheels, Stoptech brakes, and a custom touch-screen interface. All of the updates are purely aesthetic - no engine work here - because the tuner wants to focus on improving the car’s look to attract younger buyers.

The CT 200h’s full hybrid system combines a 1.8 liter VVT-i petrol engine, a powerful electric motor, a generator, a high performance battery, a power control unit, and a power split device. Not sure how this 134hp engine setup will go over with the younger crowd, but thinking "green" is such a fad nowadays that aesthetics improvements just may be enough to win them over.
