Chrysler, in cooperation with Hamilton Carhartt have developed a special edition 200 S and will display it next week at the 2013 New York Auto Show. The new 200 S Special Edition will be priced at $28,870 and will be put into production in the second quarter of 2013.
This special edition was based on the Chrysler 200 "S" package and will add "an incredible amount of standard features." On the exterior the model combines numerous gloss black with chrome insertions and 18-inch aluminum wheels. There are also numerous "S" and black "200" badges that will help you to further identify this special edition.
The interior has been designed in collaboration with Carhartt and continues the same black and gray design theme. As standard equipment the model is offering a leather-wrapped steering wheel and a Boston Acoustic premium sound system.

The new 200 S Special Edition received unique exterior features that will make it easy to identify on the streets. Up front it combines a new gloss black mesh grille with a platinum chrome grille collar, a lower front fascia in platinum black and platinum chrome fog light "spears".
For the rear the new 200 S adds a body-color deck-lid spoiler, platinum chrome light bar, rear valance with polished, fascia-mounted exhaust tips and unique "S’ and black "200" badges.
The car will sit on new 18-inch aluminum wheels with polished face and dark painted pockets and combined with a sport suspension.
On the interior the new 200 S Special Edition adds a water-resistant fabric in black specially selected by Carhartt. The seats received the signature Carhartt triple stitching seat accents in diesel gray, with the same color being used for stitching on the perforated leather-wrapped steering wheel, armrests and center console.
Black paint has been used for the air vents, gear shift, front cup holders and steering wheel buttons. Also, as standard equipment the model adds a Boston Acoustic premium sound system.
Under the hood the model keeps the usual 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine that produces a total of 283 HP and 260 lb.-ft. of torque. When mated to a 62TE six-speed automatic transmission, this engine delivers a fuel economy of 29 mpg on the highway.
The new Chrysler 200 S Special Edition will be put into production in the second quarter of 2013. It will be priced at $28,870.
With all the updates it has received, the new 200 S Special Edition will be put on top of the usual competitors for the 200 S.
We are referring here strictly to the model powered by the 3.5-liter V6 that delivers a total of 270 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. This version has a base price of $25,360, but when fully loaded it can be a lot more expensive than the new 200 S Special Edition.
The most powerful Fusion model gets a 2.0 liter Ecoboost engine that delivers a total of 237 horsepower and is priced from $26,745. Still, when it comes about look, Fusion has the advantage of looking a little bit more elegant than the 200 S and this feature attracted lots of buyers lately.
The new 200 S Special Edition has been specially designed to attract more buyers and with all the standard features it offers we are pretty sure that Chrysler will easily hit its target.

Production of the 2013.5 Chrysler 200 S Special Edition begins in the second quarter 2013. The Chrysler 200 S is built in the United States at Chrysler Group LLC’s Sterling Heights (Mich.) Assembly Plant. The 200 S Special Edition will be upfitted at Chrysler Group LLC’s upfit center in Warren (Mich.).
The 2013.5 Chrysler 200 S Special Edition will be featured at the New York International Auto Show March 29 – April 7.
In addition to the Chrysler 200 S Special edition vehicle, Chrysler and Carhartt have collaborated on an “Imported From Detroit” line of clothing. It is a collection of iconic outerwear, tops and pants with exclusive design detailing like blacked out hardware and leather brand labels. A limited edition version is available in each style and is individually hand-numbered from 1 to 200. The limited-edition outerwear pieces feature a map of Detroit screen printed on the coats interior lining.
