Citroen unveiled today the first details on the new generation C4 that will make its world debut at the Paris Auto Show . Citroen’s answer to the Volkswagen Golf and Ford Focus is a mixture of high-tech gadgets and class-leading interior space. The new C4 will go on sale in the United Kingdom in early 2011.

Compared to the current generation, the new C4 has grown in dimensions with 5cm in length, 2cm in width, and 3cm in height. It also comes with a new exterior design: more aggressive headlights, a bolder grille, additional chrome accent, a roof-mounted spoiler, a classier rear bumper, and modern taillights. The new Citroen C4 is a fabulous looking car that resembles the new Focus and Renault’s Megane Coupe . The new C4 should fit well into the very competitive small car segment.

Of course, with the wave of environmentalism sweeping up the world, Citroen made sure that the new C4 would do as little damage to the arctic as it possibly could. The New C4 will be available with Citroen’s new micro-hybrid e-HDi powertrains, which feature the latest generation Stop & Start system that helps deliver CO2 emissions as low as 109g/km at launch - and 99g/km on future models. Next to it there will be the usual turbocharged petrol and HDi diesel engines.

The list of technologies offered for the C4 include: EGS (Electronic Gearbox System), hill start assist, automatic electric parking brake, Lane Departure Warning System and Xenon dual-function directional headlamps, blind-spot monitoring system, cornering light function, cruise control and speed-limiter with road speed memory settings, and an innovative new service called eTouch.

Citroen has unveiled the special edition C4 Coupe by Sebastien Loeb. Based on the 3-door hatchback, the car features the same engine line-up under the hood, but comes with a more sporty-oriented exterior. After all the car is named after the successful WRC rally driver, Sebastien Loeb.

The C4 limited edition comes with Loeb’s signature on the doors, a unique ’by Loeb’ sticker on the tailgate and door mirrors finished in either red, or black with aluminum-effect. There is also a roof spoiler and 17-inch alloy wheels in either white or black.

The C4 Coupe by Sebastien Loeb comes with either a 1.6-liter gasoline engines delivering 120HP (naturally aspirated) and 150HP (turbocharged), or a 1.6-liter turbo diesel with 110HP and prices range from £14,395 to £15,895.

Citroen unveiled at the Paris Auto Show the C4 WRC HYmotion4 concept car, the first WRC car to be equipped with a hybrid energy recovery system which delivers added performance and lower emissions.

These real performance gains have been achieved thanks to the innovative technological solutions which have been developed to transform the C4 WRC into the C4 WRC HYmotion4.

The Citroen C4 WRC HYmotion4 is powered by a 2.0 liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that delivers 320bhp at 5,500rpm and 58mkg of torque at 2,750rpm.

Citroen will present at the the Moscow International Motor Show, which will open on 26 August 2008, a restyled version of the successful C4.

Citroen has made some judicious styling tweaks to strengthen the car’s successful design, which has been a hit with the public right from the start. The restyle focused on the front end, emphasizing its elegance, strength and energy.

The interior has also been redesigned. Citroen has added new upholstery and a new grain on several trim parts, and incorporated the rev counter in the middle of the dashboard.

Engine-wise, the C4 is now available with two new petrol engines co-developed with BMW. The VTi 120 and THP 150 units bring even more on-road pleasure and significantly reduce fuel consumption and emissions.

The HDi diesel engine range has been further enhanced, with many powerplants qualifying for the Airdream eco-signature. The 2-litre HDi diesel engine is the first to comply with the future Euro V standard in this family. Through the use of new technology (such as low-rolling resistance tyres), several versions with the HDi 92 or HDi 110 paired with a manual or EGS6 gearbox can limit their emissions to 120 g/km of CO2.

Citroen, the biggest French manufacturer unveiled again a new special edition range, the Cachet. The C2, C3 and C4 will be the vehicles on which the new edition will be available.

You may say: so what? Does this contain any improvements? Well, the answer is YES! The supermini C2 comes with alloy wheels, front fog lamps, air conditioning, mp3 compatible CD player and is available in 4 stylish colours: black, arctic steel, poseidon blue and sport red. Another option is that you can choose between two petrol engines.

Citroën is taking the Compact MPV to new levels of luxury with the introduction of the Lounge, a very special edition of the Company’s multi-award winning C4 Picasso, created uniquely for the UK market. The marque’s popular family car has been given a prestigious upgrade to create a stylish and distinctive vehicle that combines a sleek and dynamic exterior with a spacious and luxurious interior.

Citroen unveiled today the C4 Sedan, a model that expands the existing C4 range currently made up of a 5-door hatchback and a coupe. The new model is built on the C4 platform and will be available on sale starting the last quarter of 2007.

Citroën is launching the C4 Sillage special series in France today. Available in hatchback form, the C4 Sillage features the new-generation NaviDrive system, reverse radar and 16-inch alloy wheels as standard.

Following the success of the C4, which has sold 530,000 units sold worldwide since launch at end-2004, Citroën is further extending its range with the launch of the C4 notchback in several Latin American countries. This modern and original saloon features all the characteristics and innovations that have made the C4 a success.
