Designing a house can be a painful task, but if you can get a little creative and think outside the box, you can come out with some pretty interesting things to hang from your ceiling.

Here’s an idea: why don’t you take a page out of this photo and do something similar to it? We’re not asking you to hang a classic like a Citroen DS , but from what we’ve been hearing recently, hanging cars inside the house as a form of display is becoming a more and more popular trend these days. For example, check out this super-sized plastic car kit that was used as art in a living room.

Word of advice, though. If you do decide to go this route, we strongly urge you to use a car that’s a little on the eye-catching side. And no, please, no lawnmowers.

What do you get when you combine the first model of the Citroen DS line with a designer that is synonymous with high-end fashion? If you answered the special edition Citroen DS3 Yves Saint Laurent, then give yourself a good pat on the back - or at least let somebody do it for you.

Similar to the standard model of the DS, this special edition Citroen hatchback comes with a new red exterior color that’s combined with the black roof with that unmistakable Yves Saint Laurent logo.

Unfortunately, the car isn’t for sale and was mainly used to bring VIP guests to the grand opening of the retrospective exhibition of Saint Laurent’s entire body of work at the Petit Palais museum last Wednesday.

Citroen ’s limited run DS3 Racing , an offspring of Citroen’s racing Division that’s in charge of producing the brand’s WRC rally cars, will make its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in a week’s time but Citroen has decided to try to create more buzz for the car by releasing a video clip of the car.

Looking a lot like one of those Hot Wheels toy cars, the DS3 is about as limited as limited can get with only 1,000 units being produced by Citroen. The car comes with a modified version of the 1.6-liter turbocharged engine that produces an output of around 200 hp. Incidentally, the engine is co-developed by BMW-PSA Citroen Puegeot where it is also found under the hood of the MINI Cooper JCW .

What was shown in Geneva was just a concept preview. The production version will be revealed in 2010, and Citroen has set cars like the Audi A3 and Alfa Romeo 149 as its main competition. Eventually the DS3 will be joined by large siblings currently known as the DS4 and DS5.

The original DS was referred to as "Goddess" because of its strange and beautiful styling (also the French pronunciation of D-S, “deesse”, translates to goddess). Now Citroen says it wants DS to stand for “Different Spirit”. From what we’ve seen so far, the new DS is dead-on stylish, but as for different from the competition, the Mini may have something to say about that.
