It has been about a year since the French automaker launched the all new Citroen DS line and only a few months after the new DS3 broke cover, the new car builder is taking the next step by unveiling the new DS High Rider concept at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show. The High Rider is a modern car with an innovative technological approach, especially because of the new "Full Hybrid" diesel powertrain. The "Full Hybrid " system combines a refined HDi DPFS diesel burning power plant with an electric motor mounted on the rear axle that enables the Citroen DS High Rider to combine the fuel efficiency and torque of an HDi diesel engine with the green benefits of a next generation ZEV (Zero Emission Vehicle) when running exclusively under electric power while in other situations, both propulsion sources combine to deliver the maximum amount of power with an excess of torque being transmitted to the rear wheels. Updated 04/23/2010: Citroen today unveiled images of the concept’s interior. The images revealed that the instrument panel, seats and door panels are all finished in a quality, full-grain leather, while chrome detailing is used around the dials, steering wheel, air vents, gear stick and the arch that connects the instrument panel to the console. Press release after the jump. Press release Citroën has released first details of a striking new concept design that will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show. DS HIGH RIDER is the second concept associated with Citroën’s innovative and distinctively styled DS line. Unlike traditional 4-seater coupés, with their long, low design, the DS HIGH RIDER is compact and muscular. DS HIGH RIDER is an expression of automotive luxury and elegance - exemplified by its glossy golden paintwork and brushed chrome trim that accentuate the car’s flowing lines. The roof is covered with a coated textile material - a tactile feature of quality. 10 comments: Citroen DS High Rider Admittedly, it really looks so cool with its gold body paint and even the design of its wheels only fitted with the classy appearance of it. However, I wonder if they also perfectly matched it on its interior?
The appearance, seems so luxurious and sophisticated on its gold body paint. I noticed that all wheels of the car here in certain is so cool! But it seems that the interior features are boring.
Ever seen Ferrari always have the beautiful and unique structure of they car, maybe that’s why? some of their design are trying to be clone by other country.
Looks like a new concept car that might turn into a WRC car. A good answer to the Ford Focus, and Impreza WRX hatch type.
this is just such a beauty, i hope Peugeot/Citroen can just make the leap to North America in the next few years, this has market appeal
It is actually the first time after more than a decade that I have seen an SUV that has only 3 doors. I think the first and last one that I saw was that of Toyota Rav4. They had a 3 door SUV same as that of Citroen’s. I wonder why they stopped producing that as there are a lot of people who actually preferred it.
I think this is a very nice car - Like virtually all new Citroens. I am a real fan of this DS range as they try some new things in design. Good job Citroen.
