UPDATED 12/16/10: It seems like it’s been ages since we last talked about the DSR Racing sports hatch that we forgot just how awesome this car is. Fortunately, we have a couple of updates to share about the limited-run sports hatch from Citroen. The first is a new walk-around video of the DS3-R, which we expect that you guys will find extremely helpful. The second and more important update has something to do with the car’s availability, especially if you find yourself living in Italy. According to Citroen, one-fifth of all production models of the DS3-R - that’s 200 of the 1,000 total models - will be made available exclusively for the Italian market. UPDATE 02/09/11:We have more good news for fans of the Citroen DS-3 Racing Model, just in case you’re all sweating the thought of missing out on getting one of the 1,000 total models of the car. According to Citroen, the demand for the car is so strong that the company has already decided on doubling the production number of cars to by another 1,000 units, bringing all DS-3 R units to 2,000 models. It doesn’t end there either. Citroen Racing chief Olivier Quesnel also said that there could be more models available in the horizon if sales of the car keeps at the brisk pace it’s selling now. Awesome news for Citroen fans! Press release Citroen is unleashing a hot new Citroen DS3 at the Geneva Motor Show - the limited edition 200hp Citroen DS3 Racing. With integrated carbon-trimmed components and specialist motorsports equipment, Citroen DS3 Racing’s tuned and turbo-charged 1.6-litre THP 150 engine develops 200hp - a power increase of almost 30% over the standard unit - with a torque increase of 15% from 240Nm to 275Nm. The braking system has also been up-rated to ensure control over the car’s additional horsepower. The front wheels get 4-piston racing callipers and special disc-brakes - with drilled discs at the rear. For enhanced control, the ESP has been adapted to complement the sportier handling, but can be disengaged according to the driver’s preference. A sporty carbon finish is used around the front bumper, lower body trim and wing extensions, whilst large 18” alloy wheels, chrome door handles and even a chrome-finished exhaust complete the dynamic styling. On the road, Citroen DS3 Racing’s WRC pedigree is evident. Benefiting from Citroen’s extensive knowledge of racing dynamics, a carbon-finished air diffuser stabilises the car at high speeds, whilst the chassis and suspension have been adapted to provide even more precision, control, sportier handling and swifter cornering. 9 comments: Citroen DS3-R BenZaholic (268) Posted on 11.24.2011 This DS3-R is absolutely looking so awesome with its features! Well, the aggressive appearance of it is very appealing, but I hope they also include some pictures of its interior.
Zosimos (594) Posted on 01.31.2011 Citroen also allows buyers to customize the interior dashboard strip (which includes the air vents, instrument cluster and multifunction screens) in one of six finishes. Navigation, Bluetooth and an audio system are some of the available options.
peter_meyers (104) Posted on 01.31.2011 Like the Mini Cooper, each DS3 has contrasting black A-, B- and C- ars. However, a "shark-fin"-shaped B- ar separates the sporty compact from its competitors
Ping_Guererro (939) Posted on 12.6.2010 battle of the Hot Hatches, hatchback vehicle is evolving more and more well liked today, particularly the Sport or GT type. Oh well I should state im furthermore a Fan of Hatches.
Silvestre_Wall (295) Posted on 02.22.2010 Maybe there’s something to compare about especially the Impreza coz’ it’s a hatchback car also. I like the rally matte design on the roof. The combination of the matte seems kinda new to my eyes and I think this will make a scene on the Geneva motor show.
Bobby_Cruz (513) Posted on 02.21.2010 Wow, 210bhp? That is Cooper JCW territory. This little gen just gets better and better. Btw, why are you comparing it to the Evo X and Impreza? They are in a different league!
Silvestre_Wall (295) Posted on 02.14.2010 wow, those specs are pretty lame...Focus RS seems like a monster next to this
Andress (1243) Posted on 02.10.2010 Sweet. I like how the color orange and black makes everything work. I really am looking forward to seeing this car in the race tracks or in the rally races. See it heads up with Suzuki Swift perhaps.
