While everyone’s attention was focused on debuts of the new Aston Martin Vanquish and the Bentley Continental GT Speed , Citroen was also expanding its model line-up with the unveiling of two new models: the new generation C-Elysee and the C4 L.
The new C-Elysee was designed for families looking for an attractive, affordable sedan. When creating the car, Citroen designers had to start from scratch, but the result is a model with an innovative design and a roomy interior that is ideal for families. Depending on the market, the new C-Elysee will be offered with the latest generation VTi 72 petrol engine or a new VTi 115 engine, combined with a manual or an automatic gearbox.
Sales for the new Citroen C-Elysee will begin at the end of 2012 and the model will be sold in selected international markets.

Exterior and Interior
The new Citroen C-Elysee measures 4.43 m long, 1.7 m wide, and 1.47 m tall, and has been built on a 2.65 m wheelbase - the longest in its category. The model will be immediately recognized thanks to the famous Citroen features: a large chrome signature emphasizing
the enveloping, a ribbed bonnet, and a three-box body style. Customers will have the possibility to choose between seven body colors, with chrome detailing depending on the level of trim.
On the interior, the car offers some of the best and elegant materials, as well as plenty of room for the whole family. The backseats offer best-in-class space (knee room of 120 mm), as well as a boot capacity of 506 liters.
The list of standard equipment include, among many others, air
conditioning with a digital display, rear parking sensors, a cruise-control/speed limiter function, and an mp3 car radio with a Bluetooth hands-free kit.
Depending on the market, the new C-Elysee will be offered with a choice of either a VTi 72 petrol engine or a new VTi 115 engine. For diesel fans, a HDi 92 engine will be available. The first engine delivers a total of 72 HP and a peak torque of 81 from 31 lbs-ft,000 rpm. It has a fuel consumption of 5 liters/100 km and 115 g/km of CO2.
All three engines will be offered with a choice of manual or automatic transmissions.
The new Citroen C-Elysee will go on sale at the end of 2012. Prices will be announced at a later date.
There are thousands of takers to serve as a competitor for the new C-Elysee. Just the other day, for example, Skoda released the first details on the new Rapid on the market. The Rapid is a new addition to Skoda’s line-up that will make its world debut at the 2012 Paris Auto Show.
