DDR Motorsport->ke3902 has revealed the latest version of the Miami GT. The new model is called the Miami GT Grand Prix Edition and is the result of many hours of work and some deep cooperation between the teams from DDR Motorsport, Concavo Wheels, K-Sport, Stuttgart Auto Collision, Bill Ussery Collision Center and much more.

DDR Motorsport is built this model, using its own chassis and frame, combined with parts from other makers. There are two GT models, the GT4 using an Acura RSX->ke274 or Toyota MR2->ke357 engine and the GT8 that uses an LS1 Corvette->ke1280 engine.

The Miami GT Grand Prix Edition is essentially an upgraded version of the GT4 or GT8 kit, but the upgrades that DDR equipped it with certainly help take this sports car to a whole new level of quickness and ability on the track.

Miami GT Grand Prix Edition in Detail

Designed for the Track

On the outside, the engineers at DDR started off with teh basic fiberglass body from the GT4 and GT8 kits, and sat it atop the same NASCAR-spec, drive-over-mandrel mild-steel-tube chassis. Separating it from the stock GT4 and GT8 models is its aerodynamic kit, which features a handful of carbon-fiber parts, including: a new front bumper, new splitter and hood. There are also new louvers, side mirror, rear wing and wing tips also made from carbon fiber.

Also added in are Hella Bi-Halogen headlights, taillight and turn signals.

Stuck to the Track

The Miami GT Grand Prix Edition sits on a set of 20-inch Concavo wheels wrapped up in sticky performance rubber. A set of Ksport Kontrol Pro Shocks help keep the sports car steady in the corners and when it encounters imperfections in the road. A set of six-piston Brembo calipers do the stopping on the front by squeezing a set of 15-inch cross-drilled rotors, On the backside, the brakes feature a set of four-piston calipers with 12-inch cross-drilled rotors.

Dressing up the Inside

The inside of the Miami GT Grand Prix Edition also received a nice set of upgrades. This special sports car receives new seats, shift knob, shift boot and steering wheel all from Momo; a set of Dakota Digital gauges; and TAKATA seat belts.

The Guts to get the Job Done

Under the hood, the Miami GT Grand Prix Edition features an 2.0-liter turbocharged 3SGTE engine from a Toyota MR2. This engine's base tune delivers over 450 horsepower and optional add-on equipment can push this four-banger to 600 horsepower. In its top-level tune, we estimate that the Miami GT will hit 60 mph in just over 3 seconds and hit a top speed nearing 200 mph.

Priced to move

The new Grand Prix Edition package cost $6,000 more over the GT4 ($16,995) and GT8 ($17,995) kit price. That price is pretty sweet, but you do need to bring some of your own components to the table. For specific details on purchasing a Miami GT Grand Prix Edition, you can contact DDR Motorsport.
