The Caliber wasn't the only model in Dodge's lineup to receive a few changes. The Dodge Nitro->ke405 will be entering the 2011MY with a new Heat 4.0 lifestyle package, adding to the Detonator, Shock, and Heat models that joined the family in 2010. The Heat 4.0 will bring with it a five-speed automatic transmission, standard Uconnect Phone, and an upgraded eight-speaker sound system. The 4.0 in the name comes from the 4.0-liter V-6 engine powering the system and delivering 260 HP and 265 lb.-ft. of torque.

Depending on the model, the Nitro will also get new cloth and leather with premium colored stitching, 20-in. aluminum wheels, Dodge Brand->ke28’s signature racing stripes, aluminum premium-painted wheels, heated leather seats, and a sunroof. Dodge also chose to add some new colors to the exterior, including Bright White Clear Coat, Blackberry Pearl Coat, Toxic Orange Pearl Coat, and Redline Two Coat Pearl.

Along with the 4.0L engine, customers will also be able to choose a 3.7-liter V-6 engine that delivers 210 HP and 235 lb.-ft of torque for their Dodge Nitro.

Press release

New for 2011, the Dodge Nitro Heat 4.0 lifestyle package joins the Detonator, Shock and Heat models that arrived on the scene in 2010. The new Nitro Heat 4.0 comes standard with a five-speed automatic transmission, standard Uconnect® Phone and an upgraded eight-speaker sound system. Of course the Heat 4.0 would not be complete without the powerful 4.0-liter V-6 engine as standard equipment. The all-aluminum 4.0-liter overhead cam V-6 engine delivers 260 horsepower (194 kW) and 265 lb.-ft. (359 N•m) of torque.

The all-new Dodge Nitro lineup was revised and renamed in 2010, offering new exterior and interior styling features. These newly repackaged models – Heat, Detonator and Shock along with the Heat 4.o Lifestyle Package – provide Nitro customers with more standard content and style, including 20-in. aluminum wheels, sunscreen glass and performance suspension paint. For 2011, select models feature upgraded interiors with new cloth and leather with premium colored stitching. Detonator and Shock are now tattooed with Dodge Brand’s signature racing stripes.

The Dodge Nitro Heat features 20-in. aluminum wheels, body color grille with bright billets, sunscreen glass and performance suspension. The quality-proven 3.7-liter V-6 engine delivers 210 horsepower (157 kW) and 235 lb.-ft. (319 N•m) of torque and is available in 4x2 and 4x4 models.

Detonator packs a punch with 23 percent more horsepower and 12 percent more torque than the smaller V-6 offering. Detonator shares its powertrain with Heat 4.0, including the aluminum 4.0-liter overhead cam V-6 engine and five-speed automatic transmission. The Detonator package also features 20-in. polished aluminum wheels, nine premium speakers with subwoofer, remote start and Parksense® rear park assist system.

The Dodge Nitro Shock is fully loaded and with the new polished 20-in. aluminum premium-painted wheels, heated leather seats and a sunroof along with the 4.0-liter overhead cam V-6 engine and five-speed automatic transmission. The Shock has an intense, nine speaker including subwoofer audio system, remote start and Parksense® rear park assist system. The 2011 Dodge Nitro lineup is now available in nine exterior colors, including new for 2011 Bright White Clear Coat, Blackberry Pearl Coat, Toxic Orange Pearl Coat and Redline Two Coat Pearl.
