2011 Hemi Cuda by Droptop Customs

If Chrysler doesn’t end up utilizing the b>Cuda name they just recently registered , at least we’ll have Droptop Customs’ personal Cuda program to help dull the pain. Their new tuning project based off of the 2009 Dodge Challenger is powered by a 6.1 liter SRT8 HEMI engine mated to six-speed manual transmission. This engine is the same engine used in the 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT8 , but we’re expecting more than the 425hp and 420lb-ft of torque considering it will also be getting a Mopar Catback exhaust system and a pistol grip Hurst shifter. For even better performance, Droptop Customs also added a KW coilover suspension with strut tower braces for both the front and the rear axles.

The exterior modifications for the Challenger include a special front grille, an updated aerodynamics, a shaker hood, and a retro rear bumper from HXC. DropTop Customs also added a new set of 20" BBS lightweight alloy wheels painted in black and contrasting with a yellow paint job, which were a big hit when the Cuda had its run in the seventies. The interior only received minor changes with a Kicker entertainment system and an electric-powered black soft top.

Absolutely different car and unique in style. Well truly say I’m so attracted to convertible cars. I love the retract and fold away of its roof and the versatility of the car.

Yups, it seems that it would really be a waste of time if they don’t use the Cuda name at all, considering the effort that they have to go through to get it. But I think they are already planning to release some models under that brand.

They had a car at SEMA last year in a crazy awesome purple. Rumor has it that they are coming out with a limited production Cuda convertible. If its anything like their one they showed at SEMA, I’m sure it will blow this one out of the water.

This rendering just screams CHEAP! Nothing on it looks right, I have seen better! In fact there is already a better version, I think the company is called HXC

One of the coolest color combination is black-yellow! As some say, it has the biggest contrast!

Superb! If those would of been more safe on the road (read more euroNcap stars) that would be an awesome car to have!

I love the old ’cuda - one of my favorite classic cars (and I’m a Camaro guy) - but that car is hiddeous. They based if off of the new Challenger, which already looked bloated with parts so retro it looked like they got them from the junk yard rather than designing something that looked right, and now someone has dropped this halloween costume on it. The original ’cuda looked sporty and fast, this think looks like it would strain to move. The space shuttle is more aerodynamic than this car. I know they claim it was based on the ’cuda, but I’m thinking they got the ’cuda confused with a school bus.

Just like the Camaro. For a new car vs. the old ones, the old one seems look bigger. but when you compare to the new one IMO, it just look fine.

I don’t hear any MINI enthusiasts freaking out about the new MINI being so much bigger and heavier than the old one. It’s not the handling either as the new Challenger handles and brakes better than the classic one.

lovely, good thing that we have a photo editor like photoshop.. i really appreciate the background pix of the hemi cuda...
