The Engine

Dodge Charger SRT8

The 2012 Dodge Charger SRT8 is powered by a 6.4-liter HEMI V-8 engine that delivers an impressive 465 HP and 465 lb.-ft. of torque, including an estimated additional 80 lb.-ft. of torque at 2,900 rpm. For the first time in an SRT product, standard paddle-shift technology joins the standard AutoStick on the floor shifter. Both are mated to the proven W5A580 five-speed automatic transmission, allowing a choice of spirited shifting on the road and the racetrack.

The new Charger SRT8 will feature a new adaptive damping suspension that uses a wide range of on-road and driver inputs, such as vehicle speed, steering angle, steering speed, brake torque, throttle position and lateral acceleration. Also, drivers will be able to choose between "Auto" and "Sport" settings that quickly change the shock damping and harshness characteristics from the ease of everyday commuting to harsher, more challenging driving situations.

Dodge Charger SRT8

Some may consider the Mercedes C63 AMG to be quite the competitor against the Charger SRT8, but its monstrous price tag doesn’t allow for a worthy comparison. That leaves us with models like the Nissan Maxima and the Hyundai Genesis . Chrysler has also recently unveiled the new 300 , which will also get an SRT8 version.

  • Powerful engine
  • Faster than previous version
  • Competitors don’t stand a chance
  • Cops will flock to it like bees to honey
  • Gas mileage may leave your wallet a tad bare

Well I’m glad to know that this Charger SRT8 is faster than there previous. I would love to see this one on a race and I also noticed that it really had a splendor appearance.

I love the aggressive design that this Dodge Charger SRT8 had and I must say that it is already looks good on its color. The styling is almost perfect for me I just wish that the engine performance didn’t disappoint me.

Well it is really nice to hear that is more powerful now than the previous one. As for the exterior looks of this one, I found it so impressive and cool even the wheels emphasize the beauty of this car.

Wow! I love the design of this SRT8 although I’m not really fond with the front end of it, I still find it so impressive most especially with its powerful engine performance.

@ jgrissom22 where did you saw those pictures of this car? I also wanted to see the them for me to decide, which will be better, but as you can see, it’s a four-door car. Therefore, they make adjustments.

tell the truth i seen pic of this car as a two door and i swear it looks way better than as a for door. i think they should have went with the two door though

Hmm, with those features that they have listed here, I think the price would be around the $50,000 mark. If that’s the case, I would say that it would still be in the reasonable range.

It’s really normal that SRT8 offer a great car like this. It has a powerful engine that anyone look for. And it’s nice to know that they upgrade it speed performance than the previous version! Great!

Well, it is really a good thing that Dodge can still very well keep up with Chevrolet. This can very well be a perfect match for the Camaro ZL1 both in looks and performance.

ond it gas guzzler. Well, I don’t think that this car would be the best thing to consider since everyone is looking for a fuel economy car.

Honestly, I really don’t like sedan cars for its platform and wider body! However, talking about the speed performance of the car, I have to admit that I’m impressed on this car.

Love the new charger but this looks a little flashy

now if only the sprint cup cars could for dodge could look like this !

This charger truly is nice. I like it more than any camaro. All those who think this charger isn’t nicer than the camaro is blind

This only has a supercharger, PepBoys wheels, and a new Muffler, plus a redneck paint scheme. Big deal.

I saw this car a couple days ago in the jersey turnpike....i was following it cuz the taillights looked weird at night and couldnt make up wat car it was

They actually found a way to make it look even worse than before. Bravo. Seriously, what’s with the front? I’ll give Dodge credit for trying to make a muscle car, but they just can’t seem to get it right. It looks especially ridiculous next to the Camaro ZL1 that was just unveilled.

gotta love the new charger smiley but i personally hate the rear.. i prefer the one of the previous model :/

This new charger is hot. It looks alot more agressive than all its previous models.
