O.CT Tuning has impressed us once again with a new program for the 2014 Dodge Challenger SRT8. Not that the Challenger needs it seeing as a standard model already packs a 6.4-liter, V-8, HEMI engine that produces 470 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. But O.CT Tuning’s not impressed with those numbers, which is why the German tuner took it upon itself to give the American muscle car its new OCTSRT-700 program.
The program’s name pretty much says it all. This program means serious business, the likes of which we rarely see on a Challenger SRT8. For one, those stock HEMIs were deemed somewhat inadequate, hence the company’s decision to increase its displacement to an incredible 7.0 liters. O.CT Tuning then slapped on a compressor to the larger-displacement engine, resulting in an incredible power upgrade of 720 horsepower and 645 pound-feet of torque.
I’m no math genius or anything, but I do know that 470 is a long ways away from 720 — that’s an incredible difference of 250 horsepower — so excuse me for being a little tickled by the added output given to one of America’s finest pony cars.
This program is one of the most powerful we’ve seen on the Challenger SRT8. The fact that a German tuner did it speaks to the Challenger’s appeal as a global muscle machine.

Some people aren’t going to be comfortable behind the wheel of a Challenger with that much power. That’s understandable, especially if they don’t know how to tame all those horses.
All that power under the Challenger means nothing if it doesn't have the requisite certificates to make them road legal.
That’s not a problem for O.CT Tuning because it has something a little more subdued. The company doesn’t increase the displacement of the engine, opting instead to install a compressor kit and a charge air cooler system to go with a software optimization.
The result’s aren’t as impressive as 720 horsepower and 645 pound-feet of torque, but with an improved output of 564 horsepower and 542 pound-feet of torque, that’s more than enough to justify this hefty performance increase.
All that power under the Challenger’s hood means nothing if it doesn’t have the requisite certificates to make them road legal. Fortunately, O.CT Tuning’s supercharger conversions come with a MOT / DTC certificate, ensuring that its massive program can be enjoyed by drives all over Europe.
For the settled in Austria and Switzerland company O.CT Oberscheider Tuning GmbH, car compressor engineering for cars made by Audi, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge or Jeep, is part of the daily job for many years. The success is resounding, as can simply be checked by reading different publications in the specialized press.
As only the notion Supercharger Conversion comes into, not only insiders get keen-eared! In the present case, O.CT Tuning has „converted“ a Dodge Challenger SRT8 with 6.4 liters of engine size. During the conversion, there have been installed a compressor kit and a charge air cooler system, but before all, there was made an individual software optimization. By doing this, the software gets professionally matched to the particular car – so, not at all „off the peg“. The work is done on the company own high tech test bench. And the result has not any reason to fear the competition: 476 serial HP increases to 564 HP and the original max. torque of 637 Nm was boosted up to impressing 735 Nm (here is concerned the version with MOT / DTC certificate, further steps with over 600 HP for racing sports are possible).
Another no less noticeable example for compressor engineering made by O.CT Tuning, is presented by a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Here also, 468 serial HP increases to 564 tuned PS while the max. torque jumping from 624 serial up to 735 tuned Nm (version with MOT / DTC certificate). The pulling power, when driving the above mentioned tuned bolides, gets sensible in the beginning by moderate pressing in into the seat, with increasing rpm to be compared with the start of a jet airplane. In the same time, the compressor forced breathing emits a genial sound. Optionally, there is additionally available an individually adapted by O.CT Tuning stainless steel exhaust system beginning from the cat.
By the way, the compressor refitting with the above mentioned power enhancements, O.CT Tuning offers also for Dodge Charger and Chrysler 300C, both motorized by a SRT8-6.4 engine. Furthermore, O.CN offers also a compressor refitting for the new Dodge RAM 5.7 HEMI! Another important fact – the indicated values are confirmed by MOT certificate, thus being absolutely within the law. Indeed, O.CT Tuning can present a MOT / DTC certificate for these supercharger conversions. The (optional) exhaust system can be registered together with the compressor conversion.
It is not surprising that the mentioned measures for power increasing made by O.CT Tuning are not the „end of the road“. The parade example for this is a Dodge Challenger SRT8 refitting with project designation „OCTSRT8-700“, whereby the engine size on special customer’s wishes has been enlarged up to 7.0 liters and, consequently, has been equipped by a compressor. With 720 tuned HP and 875 Nm of max. torque the aimed 700 HP benchmark has been clearly cracked! Thus, O.CT Tuning show in an impressing way what is possible „for daily use“.
