2014 Dodge Charger with Scat Package

Posted on by

It looks like for this year’s SEMA Show, Mopar worked hard on paying tribute to some of the coolest models from yesteryear, like the Dodge Challenger R/T Shaker " that drew inspiration from the 1970s Challenger with the Shaker hood and 426 HEMI and the Scat Package that pays tribute to the old Scat Pack Club and the Scat Package Mopar parts from the 1960s and 70s.

The Scat Package is celebrating its 45th anniversary this year, and the best way to celebrate was to re-introduce it to the Dodge lineup, and attach it to the 2014 Dodge Challenger , Charger and Dart . As in the past, the new Scat package is all about engine calibration, but Mopar also added a series of updates to the exterior and the interior to round it all out.

Just like on the Challenger , the new Scat Package offered for the Charger includes three different stages of upgrades, each delivering a different level of power. Unfortunately, Dodge is remaining mum on the final numbers.

Updated 04/03/2014: Dodge announced today full specifications figures and prices for the optional Scat Packages. Check them out after the jump.

The Scat Package available for the 2014 Charger comes with the same engine updates we saw on the Challenger. This means there will be three different stages of upgrades, each adding a different amount of power to the performance sedan. Since Dodge decided not to reveal the specifications just yet, we will give you some rough estimates as we go along.

Scat Package 1 includes a Mopar cold-air intake, Mopar cat-back exhaust and performance-calibrated engine controller, which increases the engine’s output by 18 horsepower and 18 pound-feet of torque. Prices for the Scat 1 Pack start at $2,195.

Scat Package 2 adds takes the first package’s upgrades and enhances them with a Mopar performance camshaft and an engine controller calibration specific to this package. With these upgrades, priced at $1,895, the Charger will deliver an extra 30 horsepower.

Scat Package 3 is the most powerful one, and it adds to the Scat Package 2 Mopar performance CNC-ported cylinder heads for freer-flowing fuel, air and exhaust, a Mopar performance camshaft, Mopar high-flow headers and an engine controller calibration specific to this tune. Scat Pack 3 delivers an extra 58 horsepower and 47 pound-feet of torque and is priced at $4,995.

Other performance upgrades include front and rear strut bars, an adjustable suspension kit with a coil-over kit and stabilizer bar, and an electronic variable quick-dump side exhaust system for a mean grumble from the HEMI eight-cylinder.
