Fast and Furious 6 will open in theaters nationwide on May 24 and following Universal’s launch of the last teaser video, Dodge started an advertising campaign to promote the new movie.
You shouldn’t be too surprised about this decision, considering that Dodge has a total of three cars in the movie: a 2012 Dodge Challenger SRT8 driven by Dominic (Dom) Toretto in various chase scenes, a 2012 Dodge Charger SRT8 and a vintage 1969 Dodge Daytona.
Dodge created three television commercials to promote “Fast & Furious 6.” The first is called "How to Make Your Car Fast and Furious" and features an updated 2013 Dodge Dart. The second is called "Flash to the Future" and features a 2013 Dodge Charger. The third commercial is still to be announced.
While watching the commercials, between May 13 and June 30, viewers who have the Shazam App on their mobile phones will have the possibility to enter a contest and win a 2013 Dodge Dart.

The auto industry has been bitten by the web series bug. How else do you explain its proliferation these days with numerous automakers taking to that approach to give outsides like us a chance to see the inner workings of the company.

The first episode is scheduled to be revealed next week, but for now, the company has prepared a nice little teaser for us to enjoy, which you can check out by click past the jump.
For those of you who prefer country music, Tim McGraw likely rings a bell. His latest album, named "Two Lanes of Freedom," inspired this rather cool Challenger SRT8 that can be yours, thanks to Pennzoil sweepstakes.
This one-off Challenger is painted in a nice combination of orange and aqua blue, but it also gets numerous insertions of bronze, brown and red. It features a hood that pays tribute to the "TA" style used in the 1970s and a Mopar lowering kit. For the interior, McGraw opted for a bronze metallic trim on the center console and steering wheel, plus orange insertions on the leather seats. His signature is also embroidered on the seatbacks.
In order to win this car all you need to do is be a resident of the U.S. or Canada, click the source link and complete the form with your personal details.

The one-off Dodge Challenger SRT8 belonging to Chrysler CEO Serio Marchionne and called "Pitch Black" has officially hit the auction block, fetching $175,000 during the Barrett-Jackson auction in Palm Beach, Florida over the weekend.
If you all remember, the one-off 2011 Challenger SRT8 was far from a run-of-the-mill model. It came packed with plenty of custom details that were included to make it stand out from the model line. And that’s on top of the 470-horsepower output the muscle car was capable of.
So yeah, it was quite the exclusive steed that Marchionne dutifully sent to auction to benefit the United Way for Southeastern Michigan community group. As far as the winning bidder is concerned, the lucky man was apparently an avid car collector who added a pretty impressive one-off Challenger SRT8 to his collection, as well as a 540-horsepower Hemi V-8 crate engine from Mopar.
A unique Challenger SRT8 and a Hemi V-8 engine? Sounds like an impressive haul at an auction, even for its $175,000 price tag.

Even though it is new to the market, the Dodge Dart has already made its rally debut in the 2012 Global RallyCross Championship. For the 2013 racing season, this hopped-up Dart will once again return to the track with Travis Pastrana behind the wheel. Last year, the Dart scored its first victory in the fourth race of the season at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
Dodge hopes that the same success will also repeat this year and has sent two Dart racing cars in the competition. Unlike the standard Dart, the Dart Rallycross Car delivers a total of about 600 horsepower through an all-wheel-drive system. With the extra 416 horsepower, the new Dart Rallycross Car will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in under 2 seconds.
The new Dodge Dart Rallycross Car will be driven in the season opener on April 21st in Brazil.
We knew that Dodge would be offering an updated version of its Durango SUV at the 2013 New York Auto Show for quite some time now, but today the redesigned Durango SUV has been officially unveiled in the Big Apple.
Just two years removed from its re-introduction onto the market, Durango received a series of updates that made the ultimate "no compromise" SUV even better. Numerous changes have been made in order to update the SUV’s design, capability and functionality, but the most impressive feature is the addition of the new eight-speed automatic transmission - a first for its market segment.
The 2014 Dodge Durango will be put on sale in the third quarter of 2013. Customers will have to choose between five trim levels, each offering a different level of customization: SXT, Rallye, Limited, R/T and Citadel.

SRT has unveiled today at the Spring Fest the special edition Charger SRT 392 - a model limited to only 392 units and set to be put on sale later this year. It will be available in four exterior colors: Bright White, Billet Silver, Plum Crazy, HEMI Orange and TorRed.
The four exterior colors will be combined with black accents on the hood, roof, rear spoiler and exterior mirrors, plus a gloss-black “392” badge and numerous gray inserts. For the interior, this special edition will add a serialized dash plaque on the instrument panel — each unit will get an individually-numbered dash plaque. The car sits on a set of black Vapor Chrome wheels.
No updates have been announced under the hood, so we expect the new Charger SRT 392 to be offered with the usual 6.4-liter HEMI V-8 engine that delivers an impressive 465 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque.
Chrysler announced a voluntary recall for 2013 Dodge Challenger models equipped with a V-6 engine and produced during an eight-week period ending Jan. 24, 2013. The recall affects a total of 4,459 vehicles, of which approximately 1,900 are in dealer hands and 2,500 units have already been delivered to customers.
According to the official statement, the units recalled are affected by a potential short circuit that could cause a wire harness to overheat and possibly lead to fire. This problem has already led to seven such incidents, but luckily no one was hurt.
Chrysler announced that the affected owners will be contacted by phone or mail and will be asked to immediately refrain from driving their vehicles until; it is repaired by a local dealer. Also, Chrysler is advising its clients not to park their vehicles in or near any structures.
Dodge Challenger R/T and SRT8 models will enter the 2013 model year with the addition of two new exterior colors: Plum Crazy and HEMI Orange combined with full-length dual center stripes. Dodge also offers a series of updates for both the exterior and the interior.
The SRT8 392 version has been further enhanced by the addition of a series of new and improved high-tech performance features, including an expanded adaptive-damping suspension that allows for three-mode selectable suspension tuning. Unfortunately, no updates have been made under the hood, so both the R/T and SRT8 392 versions keep their usual HEMI V-8 engines.
What you will get for the 2013 model year are two new, well, new-old colors: Plum Crazy and HEMI Orange. And just as it should be, these iconic colors are only available in the R/T and SRT8 392 models, so purists won’t have to lose their minds at the sight of a Plum Crazy or HEMI Orange V-6 model…

Dodge is expanding its lineup by offering a series of new "Core" models that have been inspired by models like Charger SRT8 Super Bee and SRT Viper. The first model announced is the new Challenger SRT8 "Core" priced at $38,995 - significantly lower than the SRT8 392 models, which are priced at $45,125.
This huge difference on price is given by the fact that the new Core edition has been "designed and built with the back-to-basics performance driving enthusiast in mind," meaning that it eliminates all those fancy features you have been used to in an attempt to keep the price as low as possible.
The new Challenger SRT8 "Core" Edition adds a standard premium "Ballistic" cloth interior from the new SRT Viper, SRT-tuned sport suspensions and distinctive exterior accents, like a black grille and black SRT rear spoiler, plus two new exterior colors: Orange Pearl Coat and Plum Crazy Pearl Coat.
