Like! Chrysler’s Facebook page reveals SRT Viper teaser
A few days ago, Chrysler created an official Facebook page for their upcoming SRT Viper and promised that if the page received 10,000 likes by February 1st, they would reveal a teaser image of the next Viper. As expected, the page had received 10,000 likes in just a few hours and now Chrysler has kept their promise. This first teaser image isn’t much, but at least it allows us an idea of how cool the new Viper will be. As many already know, the future supercar will drop the "Dodge" name and will instead be simply called the SRT Viper. It has been rumored that the next generation Viper will keep its V10 engine, but unlike the previous generation, will use an 8.7 liter displacement instead. Output is believed to be in the 700 HP area. The new SRT Viper will be making its world debut at the 2012 New York Auto Show in April. Stay tuned for more details! 2013 Dodge Dart by Mopar
The new Dodge Dart just debuted at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show and Mopar is already polishing off its tuning accessories for the revived model. Chrysler’s performance arm is offering over 150 accessories for the compact sedan, from exterior and interior add-ons to performance updates, each ready to take full advantage of the Dart’s base look. The technological add-ons alone are enough to jump on the Mopar bandwagon, with features such as vehicle-information apps, an Electronic Vehicle Tracking System (EVTS), and WiTECH leading the pack. There are also a ton of upgrades to buff up the the exterior, including a carbon fiber scooped hood, a chrome aluminum grille, and 18-inch wheels in a unique Mopar design, polished spokes, and black-painted pockets. The rear of the Dart can benefit from a matte black rear deck lid spoiler, a chrome fuel door, and matte black side sills that attach to the side rocker panels for a sportier appearance. The interior can join in on the fun with a new pedal kit and industry-first wireless charging. Performance is also tackled, but not in a way that will make the Dart street racing worthy. Mopar has provided a performance braking system that consists of upgraded calipers, rotors, and performance pads for increased braking power. This means that the Dodge Dart is still powered by a choice of three engines: a 160 HP 1.4-liter MultiAir Intercooled Turbo engine, a 160 HP 2.0-liter Tigershark 16-valve engine, and a 184 HP 2.4-liter MultiAir Tigershark engine. Hit the jump for a select list of Mopar accessories for the Dodge Dart. Full story 2012 Dodge Charger Blacktop
Great ideas that come at the wrong place or the wrong time should always be shelved for future use. Case in point, Dodge brought out the Challenger Blacktop Concept at the 2008 SEMA Auto Show and have now decided to bring it back as an optional package for their Charger at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Chrysler has yet to announce pricing for this package, but they have announced that it will be available with an optional Beats Audio system. The new Dodge Charger Blacktop is all about the black. It gets tinted windows, black wheels borrowed from the Challenger SRT8, as well as the sleek black exterior paint job. The muscle car’s LED rear tail light has also been smoked and the dual exhaust system is made of aluminum silver. The interior of the Charger continues with the black theme and adds a new Beats audio system that consists of three 3.5-inch speakers located in the instrument panel, two 3.5-inch speakers located in the rear doors, two 6 x 9-inch front-door woofers that provide bass, two 6 x 9-inch speakers, and a center-mounted 8-inch speaker located in the rear-shelf area that provide full-range audio. 2012 Dodge Charger Redline by Mopar
It wasn’t that long ago when Dodge’s aftermarket department, Mopar, introduced us to the Charger SRT8 Super Bee at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show. Now that we’re few weeks away from the 2012 North American International Auto Show, Dodge is preparing another special edition version for their resident sports/muscle car. Ladies and gentlemen, say hello to the Mopar-tuned Dodge Charger Redline. To make it different from a lot of tuned programs we’ve seen lately, Mopar divided the Charger Redline’s program into three different stages - I to III - that all tackle just about everything and anything you see in, around, and under the sports car. These three programs allow customers to have a full breadth of choices on what kind of program they’d want on their Charger. "Since the 1960s, the Mopar Brand has built a long history of adding power and performance to the Dodge Charger – and with the Redline, we Moparized the new Charger with modern-day performance and style while giving a nod to our storied past," said Pietro Gorlier, President and CEO of Mopar, Chrysler Group LLC’s service, parts and customer-care brand. "With three kits, Mopar offers a tailored choice for every customer." Find out more about the 2012 Dodge Charger Redline by Mopar after the jump Full story 2012 Detroit Auto Show Preview

Dodge has announced that the Conner Avenue Assembly Plant in Detroit has been reopened in preparation for the production of the new generation Viper. In addition to that tidbit of news, the company has also announced that the new generation Viper will drop its usual Dodge name and will be simply called SRT Viper. "The next generation Viper will make its return to the product lineup in late 2012 as a 2013 model," said Ralph Gilles, President and Chief Executive Officer - SRT Brand and Motorsports, Chrysler Group LLC."We’re extremely excited that our ultimate American sports car will continue to live on and be produced exclusively here in the Motor City." Conner Avenue will begin building the new Viper in late 2012, but employees began reporting for training and orientation this fall. The plants have the capacity of building about 12 Vipers per day. The 2013 SRT Viper will be revealed at the New York Auto Show in April 2012. 2013 Dodge Viper set to be unveiled at the New York Auto Show
All you anxious and restless fans of the Dodge Viper can now rest easy. After a one-year "sabbatical," the 2013 Viper is coiled up and ready to strike at the 2012 New York Auto Show on April 6, 2012. According to Viper Club of America, no less than SRT President and CEO Ralph Giles confirmed the date for the Viper’s return, complete with a new halo look that is bound to make fans welcome the sports car back with open arms. Patience has truly been a virtue for Vipermaniacs who have waited long and hard for the Viper to come back from the ashes. Understandably, Dodge execs have been very tight-lipped about the car, opting to keep us sweating at what lies in store for us when the 2013 Viper returns. There have been many rumors surrounding the new Viper, most of which surround the type of engine that will be found under the hood. The first rumors suggested it would get a new direct-injection 8.4-liter V10 engine that would deliver around 700HP. However, European magazines are talking about a V8 engine with an output of 500 HP for an entry level version. A Viper mule was recently caught testing with the new Viper front end attached to the old body style. Something was cooking under that hood and whatever engine that may be, it will need plenty of fresh air to keep it cool. There was a big air intake in the front bumper and what looked to be three air intakes in the hood. This engine will be a beast and Dodge is doing whatever it can to keep it at bay. Rumors suggest this new engine will not come from Ferrari, but could be a variation of Chrysler’s new 6.4-liter Hemi V-8 with some form of forced induction. Whatever engine is finally chosen, at the very least, we now have an official date to circle on our calendars. With all the secrecy surrounding this car, that alone is already a battle won. 1998 Dodge Zakspeed-Viper GTS-R by Heurich Classics
Usually, when an automotive conversion is taking place, it’s a road car getting tuned up for the track. But every once in a while, there’s a racer that’s so badass, tuning firms have to make it street legal. This is the case with the Dodge Zakspeed-Viper GTS-R by Heurich Classics. Dodge may be working on their new generation Viper, but for many, the second generation is the true calling for the sports car and the 1998 Viper GTS-R was just too good to be left alone. The 1998 Viper originally belonged to Zakspeed Racing, but was purchased in 2010 by someone who wanted to recreate the Viper in the original design present during the vehicle’s win at the 1999 legendary 24 h at the Nürburgring, and make it street legal. For this, they turned to Heurich Classics, a Germany tuning firm that specializes in maintaining and repairing vintage classics. Many changes had to take place in order for this classic racer to be turned into a street legal mad machine. The Viper had to get its spoiler cut, its rear diffuser removed, and its side channels rebuilt, as well as its brake system changed. New tires and wheels were special ordered and a new hand brake system with CNC-machined caliper carriers was installed. For the interior, the seats, harness, and glazing were renewed, and new passenger seats were installed. All of the electrical work was also redone. The finishing touch was provided with the traditional colors and livery of the original Hasseroder Viper GTS-R. After completing the work on the exterior and interior, the tuner turned its focus on the engine. The steering angle had to be increased, the cooling system changed, additional fans installed, engine peripherals modified, and the exhaust system adapted to get the Viper up to code. As a result, the 6.2-liter V8 engine now delivers a total of 600 HP, combined with a Tremec six-speed manual gearbox. 2012 Dodge Challenger SRT8 392 Yellow Jacket
With the Los Angeles Auto Show about a week away, it’s time to see what else will be in store for the crowds when the doors open. As is customary with these type of announcements, Chrysler is among the first to reveal their auto show lineup. One of their more impressive LA show models will be this special Challenger SRT8 392 Yellow Jacket, with an impressive Stinger Yellow exterior paint and added interior elements. The Yellow Jacket will be produced in a limited run - although no specific number was given - and will be arriving in U.S. dealer showrooms in the first quarter of 2012. Based off the 2012 Challenger SRT8 392, the special edition Yellow Jacket pays tribute to the original Dodge "Yellow Jacket" unveiled in late 1969. The car will feature a very cool Stinger Yellow body color combined with a black grille surround and standard black body-side stripes. It will also come with a special set of 20 x 9-inch, five-spoke cast-aluminum wheels with black painted pockets. Chrysler made sure that the interior also paid homage to the 1969 Yellow Jacket with leather seats carrying exclusive Stinger Yellow accents, embroidered Yellow Jacket logos, and silver stitching. Under the hood, the Challenger SRT8 392 Yellow Jacket still has the 6.4-liter HEMI V8 engine found in the standard model, which delivers 470 horsepower and 470 lb.-ft. of torque. The performance numbers for the Yellow Jacket are still top notch with a 0-60 mph time in the high 4-second range, a quarter mile time in the mid-12-second range with the automatic transmission (high 12-second range with the manual), and a 0-100-0 mph time in the low 15s. Top speed goes up to 182 mph with the manual transmission and 175 mph with the automatic. "The Challenger SRT8 392 Yellow Jacket adds another piece of performance car nostalgia to our rear-drive muscle coupe lineup in 2012," said Ralph Gilles, President and CEO – SRT Brand and Motorsports. "The Stinger Yellow paint and interior accents speak directly to the performance enthusiast who appreciates a memorable and collectible color that helps deliver even more excitement and exclusivity." Enjoy! 2012 Dodge Charger SRT8 Super Bee
Dodge is bringing back its Super Bee package for one more nostalgic round in the hands of the brand’s ever-popular Charger muscle car. The Super Bee designation was first placed on a 1968 Coronet model before it was moved on over to the Charger model in 1971. It then took a long hiatus before it was applied once again, this time on the Charger SRT8 Super Bee model in 2006, 2007, and 2008. And now the Super Bee name will be offered once again for the 2012 model year. "The 2012 Dodge Charger SRT8 Super Bee is a salute to the fun-loving past of Dodge muscle cars powered by the legendary 392 HEMI V-8 in a back-to-basics performance machine," Ralph Gilles, President and CEO - SRT and Motorsports said. The special Dodge Charger SRT8 Super Bee is set to make its world debut next week at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show.
