Back in 2006, Lamborghini->ke44 unveiled the Murcielago LP640, a model powered by a 6.5 liter V12 engine with an output of 640 HP. Shortly after, EDO Competition unveiled the LP710 /2 based off of that same model. This Murcielago became the world's fastest with a bump up from 640hp to 710hp, but that stay at the top was bound to be limited. Now, the German tuner has prepared an even powerful version of the Murcielago LP640.

The V12 engine found in the Lamborghini has been updated to deliver a total of 750 HP and 546 ft-lb of torque, while the sprint from 0 to 60 mph is now made in 3.1 seconds. It's top speed goes up to an impressive 226 mph which is a considerable improvement over the LP710's top speed of 219 mph achieved on the Papenburg high speed test track.

Exterior and Interior

The Edo LP750 features an optimized aerodynamics package which improves high-speed stability and adds to the dynamic and elegant appearance of the vehicle. The package includes a re-designed, beautifully shaped rear wing featuring an adjustable lip spoiler to round off the package. The car sits on a new set of ultra-lightweight 18/19 alloy wheels with special Michelin 265/35 ZR 18 front and 345/30 ZR 19 rear tires.

Engine

In order to obtain that impressive engine update, Edo Competition is offering a completely revised intake system featuring a new hand-made intake manifold as well as modified air ducts, high performance exhaust headers, high flow catalytic converters, more aggressive camshafts, bucket tappets, mufflers, and exhaust tips and high flow air filters developed from the ground up and installed on the vehicle. The ECU was reprogrammed to make ideal use of these modifications.

The result is a total of 750 HP and a peak torque of 546 ft-lb. The sprint from 0 to 60 mph is made in 3.1 seconds, from 0-127 mph in 9.7 seconds, and from 0-186 mph in 24.5 seconds. Top speed is now 226 mph.

Prices

Edo Competition has yet to announce any prices for their update.

Competition

Ever since its official launch, the Murcielago LP640 has seen plenty of tuning updates. Last year, for example, RENM unveiled the Axion, a model that delivers a total of 715 HP and a top speed of 211 mph. Another package for the Murcielago came from IMSA, but their package only included modifications to the look of the vehicle.

With so many packages available for the Murcielago, anyone would think finding a worthy competitor would be easy. That isn't the case, however, so Edo Competition's LP750 will stay on top of our list for now.
