Would you be interested in owning a Ferrari F430 for only $8 per hour?
 
Even if we squeezed out every penny from our bank accounts, a lot of us still wouldn’t come close to buying a Ferrari. But suppose there was a way to "own" a Prancing Horse without having to dig deep in your pockets. Would you be interested in such a venture? Jointli.com has come up with a new way of staking claim to a Ferrari with the idea of "shared ownership." What this means is that instead of leasing a Ferrari outright, you can actually reduce your costs by sharing a Ferrari with other customers. How does it work? According to Jointli.com, a used 2009 Ferrari F430 will cost you around $175,000. Add all the utilities and maintenance you need to spend on and you’re looking at a cost of ownership of $380 per day. Compare that to when you’re splitting costs with three other owners with the premise that each owner gets to spend a week with the F430 and that cost drastically cuts down to about $95 per day. Now, for every party to recoup their investment, shared ownership of the F430 will only last one year, at which point, the car is theoretically sold for $165,000 , which will then be divided by four. So if you really look at it, shared ownership of a Ferrari is the most economical way to say that you have an Italian supercar at your disposal, even if you could only say that for seven days a month. The caveat is finding three other owners that not only wouldn’t mind sharing the supercar with you, but also take care of it the same way you would. There’s certainly a lot of risk with this arrangement. But if it means paying only $8 an hour to "co-own" a Ferrari F430, it’s a risk a lot of people wouldn’t mind making.
Avert Your Eyes! This is a Ferrari Mashup of Epic Proportions
It’s always sad when we have to report on a crashed supercar, but this latest accident takes that depression to epic proportions. Not one, not two, but eight Ferraris, as well as a Lamborghini, two Mercedes models, and two Toyota models have been utterly destroyed this past weekend during a terrible crash on a highway in Japan. The Ferraris destroyed were: several F355 units, an F-360, and an F-430. The losses are being estimated at around $1.5 million, but some are reporting losses of up to $4 million! Fortunately no one was seriously injured in the accident, but 10 people sustained bruising and minor injuries, probably to their egos as well as their bodies. "The accident occurred when the driver of a red Ferrari was switching from the right lane to the left and skidded," said Mitsuyoshi Isejima, Executive Officer for Yamaguchi Prefecture’s Expressway Traffic Police unit. "It was a gathering of narcissists." The driver responsible, a 60-year-old man may face up to three months in jail or a fine of as much as $1,280 - considering the damage, we’d say he got off easy. The police officers needed about six hours to clear the highway, although it may take the drivers a lifetime to forget this horrific experience ever happened. Hit the jump for the video. Whether you’re a kid or not, the name "Walt Disney" should instantly ignite a certain amount of joy. We’ve all been flipping through the television channels and stopped at a Disney cartoon just for a few minutes. Disney has been around for years bringing that kind of long-lasting joy for people, and now they are bringing it once again with the new additions to the Walt Disney World Speedway. The Walt Disney World Speedway is a racing facility located on the grounds of the Walt Disney World resort near Orlando, Florida, but don’t expect to see Lightning McQueen racing around the track. The speedway has recently added a new Exotic Driving Experience that includes some of the most amazing supercars in the world – the Ferrari F430, Ferrari 458 Italia, Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4, Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4, Audi R8, and Porsche 911 GT3 RS 997. If you are interested, the experience will officially begin on January 16, 2012.
Battle of the Revs: Ferrari 430 versus Audi R8
There are many ways in which two supercars can upstage one another, but nothing is more glorious to the ears than a good ol’ fashion rev-one-upsmanship. The protagonists on this video are a Ferrari F430 and an Audi R8. Each car comes with a bonafide monster of an engine - the F430 has a naturally-aspirated 4.3-liter V8 engine with 510 horsepower while the R8 comes with a 4.2-liter V8 engine that has an output of 420 horsepower. Basically, there won’t be any shortage of noise in both of them. The question now is which of these two supercars is louder than the other. Personally speaking, the German supercar makes for an impressive ear-crackling sound, but in this case, we’ll give the nod to the Italian stallion, which has made a tradition out of producing some of the most powerful machines on the planet. But at the end of the day, supercar enthusiasts will love waking up to this kind of sound from either of these mammoth beasts, so really, there are no losers here; just the sound of revving monsters that’s music to all out ears. 2011 Ferrari Scuderia Spider 16M Conversion Edition by Anderson Germany
There aren’t exactly a ton of tuning kits for the Ferrari Scuderia Spider 16M simply because there’s not much to change on the special edition to begin with. It’s cool, fast, beautiful, and, unfortunately, sold out. So what’s there to do if the itch for a Scuderia Spider 16M suddenly develops? Well, you can hop on the phone and give Anderson Germany a call, for starters. The tuning firm’s latest package allows ownership of a 16M style vehicle without the limited edition hurdle to jump over. The kit starts off with a Ferrari F430 Spider with a number of additions to not only make it 16M ready, but to allow for more horsepower as well. The design aspect of the 16M Conversion Edition begins with a Hyper Blackpaint finish that is then combined with Scuderia Stripes in carbon steel with a yellow border. Carbon fiber elements are then put in and make up the engine grille, rear diffuser, mirrors, and covers under the hood. Other features that lend more to the 16M style include a front air dam, side skirts, a rear apron, and an adjustment of the exhaust system. The exterior is then finished off with a new set of 20" three-piece glossy black wheels with a carbon and yellow border to match the Scuderia stripes. The interior is a little less drastic with the addition of carbon black leather and Alcantara and yellow diamond Kederrand seams. The greatest addition to the standard F430 is the extra horsepower pumping out of the 4,300 cc 90° V8 engine. With the help of a software optimization and new Renn-Kats headers and exhaust system, the 16M Conversion Edition can now run 570 HP, up from even the standard 16M’s 490 HP. The bonus 80 HP is then better handled with an adjustable suspension system. Ferrari Scuderia 777 Final Edition by Novitec Rosso
It was about one year and a half ago that Novitec Rosso unveiled the 747 Package based on the Ferrari 430 Scuderia. This package brought out the good of the Ferrari with an increase of power up to 747 HP, hence the name. One would think that with Ferrari’s release of the 458 Italia, Novitec would move on from their 430 Scuderia projects and start focusing on the newer machine. This is definitely not the case as the German tuner has brought back the Scuderia with an even more menacing package. The new version of the 430 Scuderia is called the 777 Final Edition and follows along the same lines as their previous package with a boost in power and a blacked out hood and roof treatment. The standard 4,300 cc V8 engine has been touched up with a bi-compressor kit and a new exhaust system. These additions allow the Ferrari a boost from 510 HP to a galloping 777 HP. The exterior of the vehicle looks similar to their previous package with an extreme body kit featuring plenty of carbon fiber goodies, a new set of wheels, and the same blacked out components previously mentioned. The yellow exterior paint job found in the 747 package has been switched out for a luscious red more befitting of a Ferrari. Full details will be revealed in the coming weeks. Over the years, we have seen a number of art cars introduced, and while some were aesthetically better than others, all these artist-rendered vehicles all have one thing in common: they are always magnets for attention. One artist that seems to be having a growing fascination with turning supercars into his own personal canvas is Laurence Gartel. As one of the pioneers of digital media, having plied his craft since the 70’s, Gartel has probably seen and did just about everything you can with digital media, including teach Andy Warhol the nuances of the art. What he hasn’t done is take a Ferrari F430 Scuderia and turned it into a 510-horsepower psychedelic vinyl supercar. And he did all of the designing on a computer. Who said this guy can’t keep up with today’s technology. According to the artist’s representatives, this particular F430 Scuderia’s value has jumped all the way to a cool $1 million because of Gartel’s work. Cool digs, but for a million dollars? Yikes. Underground Racing is no stranger to tuning up high-powered supercars and making them even more, well, powerful. Sounds a little like going a tad too overboard, doesn’t it? But when it comes to pure speed and unadulterated power, there are just people that can’t have enough of it. Granted, there’s always a cap for what is considered fast and what is considered dangerous, but these guys seem to be able to walk that very thin line carefully without compromising safety. Having said that, the US-based tuning firm’s take on the Ferrari F430 Spider is nothing short of remarkable. They may have left the exterior and interior untouched during the process, but with engine work as intricate and amazing as what they have done, who cares that they didn’t change the look? The F430 Spider is gorgeous as it is anyway. UPDATE 02/14/11: We’ve got a fresh batch of photos from Underground Racing and their high-powered, steel-bending Ferrari 430 Scuderia that was given their awe-inspiring Stage 3 upgrade, with over 1,000 horsepower. Granted, we’ve already drooled over this beast, but nothing gets us more nostalgic than seeing new photos of the finished product, armed and ready to pounce the streets with all those ponies under its hood. It is true the Ferrari F430 has already been replaced with the 458 Italia, but a good car will always get lots of attention. So, if you happen to have a F430 in your garage, and an extra $3,200 in your pocket Euro Koncepts comes with a tuning proposition for you: a Carbon Diffuser. Why? Because as the tuner says: "We know how important it is not riding stock. We’re here to offer aesthetically and performance pleasing parts for many high end rides. Carbon fiber is our thing." You will have the possibility to choose between a plain or a twill 3k carbon weave and comes with with a UV protective coating. For the same money you will also get a black grill. Each carbon fiber diffuser is hand made and take up to 5 weeks before delivery. We know this piece of tuning adds no extra power to your car, but it is just something Ferrari was supposed to offer from factory.
Video: Supercars pounce on Brazilian roads
Anytime you get the chance to see four exotic cars on the road together continuously trying to one-up one another, it would be a complete crime to not bring out the cameras and videotape the whole proceedings. Fortunately, the man sitting shotgun inside a Ferrari 430 Scuderia had the wherewithal to take out his camera and videotape the entire action up close and personal. Not to be outdone by the 430 Scuderia, the other three supercars in this video include some of the finest exotic machineries on the planet like a Ferrari 458 Italia, a Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale, and the only non-Prancing Horse of the group, a Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2 Balboni Edition.
