Ferrari 599

The Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano debuted in 2006 as a 2007 model in order to replace the 575M Maranello. It is an Italian gran turismo available in GTB Fiorano and GTB Fiorano F1.

With an aluminum chassis, body, and powertrain, this 3,726lb sports car is powered by a 6.0L V12 engine producing 611 HP and 448 lb-ft of torque. This engine is mated to a six-speed manual or automated manual.

2012 Ferrari 599 GTO by Romeo Ferraris

Italian tuning firm, Romeo Ferraris, is back for another installment of "tuning car awesomeness" and for their next program, they have reached for the mightiest of the mighty in the Ferrari 599 GTO.

It certainly goes without saying that the 599 GTO is considered one of the finest vehicles to ever come out of Maranello and the boys over at Romeo Ferraris are quick to give the mighty Italian supercar even more juice than it already has.

We all know that the 599 GTO comes with a V12 engine that churns out a staggering 670 horsepower at 8,250 rpm with a maximum torque of 457 lb/ft of torque at 6,500 rpm. Knowing all that, Romeo Ferraris still saw fit to give the 599 GTO a number of performance upgrades. For the stage 1 program, the Italian tuner added a new sports air filter and a new exhaust on the car, giving the 599 GTO an extra 15 ponies and 9 lb/ft of torque. On top of that, Romeo Ferraris also has a stage 2 program that includes a remapped ECU and a new exhaust system, further adding 40 more horsepower and 35 lb/ft of torque.

All told, Romeo Ferraris’ program for the 599 GTO results in the supercar now possessing 710 horsepower and 492 lb/ft of torque. Mighty meaty, indeed!

To fit into everything they did under the supercar’s hood, the Italian tuner also mixed in a number of special carbon fiber components to customize the 599 GTO’s front splitter, mirrors, and rear diffuser.

Tamara Ecclestone and her Ferrari 599 GTO

The love of fast cars must run through the Ecclestone blood line. Not only is billionaire Bernie Ecclestone the president and CEO of Formula One, but in a not-so-surprising turn, his daughter seems to love them just as much. These images show off a sexy Tamara Ecclestone as she poses next to her $600K Ferrari 599 GTO. It’s not the new F12Berlinetta, but the 599 still knows how to command attention, as does Ms. Ecclestone.

Aside from a love of fast cars, Tamara has also inherited her father’s business sense, but she has a little more to play with than dear old Dad. These images were released to promote her new reality TV show, Billionaire SS Girl on Channel V- yes, everyone now has a reality TV show - and show off just how compatible the 599’s sleek body is with hers.

The Ferrari 599 GTO is powered by a V12 engine delivering a total of 670 HP at 8250 rpm with a maximum torque of 620 Nm at 6500 rpm. It rockets the car from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.35 seconds, while top speed goes up to 208 mph. It is limited to only 599 units.

Video: Ferrari 599XX Evolution Gets First Shakedown In Suzuka

While some people still try to decide whether or not the new Ferrari F12berlinetta is a beauty or a beast, the most extreme 599 ever built, the 599XX Evolution, laid out its lusciousness on the Suzuka race track. This event marked the first race of the Ferrari Racing Days for the Asia-Pacific region.

As a reminder, the 599XX is an evolution of the original 599. It is powered by a V12 engine that delivers a total of 750 HP at 7000 rpm and 516 lb-ft of torque (an increase of 50 HP over the standard model). The kickass 599 received improved chassis dynamics thanks to an active aerodynamic package integrated with the vehicles’ electronic control systems and the adoption of new Pirelli tires. The new aero package uses an active rear wing that features two flaps, with profiles similar to those used in Formula 1, which rotate electronically to adjust the downforce between the front and rear axles in function of vehicle speed and the maneuver being effected.

2013 Ferrari F12 Berlinetta

Ferrari has just dropped the first official details on the replacement 599. Up until now, the vehicle has been dubbed the F620 GT, but its official name is the F12berlinetta. The best part is that it is the most powerful high-performance Ferrari road car ever launched.

The new F12berlinetta was designed by the Ferrari Styling Center in cooperation with Pininfarina. It is said to be "a perfect balance of uncompromising aerodynamics with harmonious proportions interpreting the typical elements of Ferrari’s front-engined V12 cars in an original and innovative way."

The F12 Berlinetta is powered by a V12 engine with an impressive output of 740 HP - an increase of 120 HP over the previous 599 GTB Fiorano. This increase in power also comes with a decrease of fuel consumption, specifically a 30% reduction. With a total weight of just 3362 lbs, the F12berlinetta will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.1 seconds, while top speed goes up to over 211 mph. Ferrari has also announced that the new model lapped the Fiorano circuit in 1:23, faster than any other Ferrari road car.

UPDATE 02/29/2012: Just a few hours after its official debut, Ferrari has unveiled an online configurator for the new F12 Berlinetta. So, go online and start playing with the colors.

UPDATE 03/13/2012: A few days ago, Ferrari released a video featuring the F12 Berlinetta in action and now they’ve released another video with behind the scenes details. Enjoy!

2011 Ferrari 599 GTB Wraith by SR Auto Group

Some of the best tuning firms in the world don’t even bother working on mild-mannered programs; these tuners go straight to the big boys.

And quite frankly, you can’t get any more ’big boy’ than Ferrari, and in this particular case, the soon-to-be-replaced Ferrari 599 GTB.

Stunning might be an understatement to describe this car, just like one of SR Auto Group’s previous projects, the equally diabolical and luscious Project 612 Adonai.

The Charcoal Gray matte finish is attractive in its own right. Then you add a new Kresiegg exhaust system that just raises the decibel level of the supercar’s 620-horsepower, 6.0-liter V12 powerhouse engine. And just to finish off the program on a high note, SR Auto Group also fitted the Ferrari 599 GTB with a ridiculous set of 2WO wheels courtesy of PUR Wheels.

Even if this program is devoid of any performance modifications, the slick, sexy, and stealthy look of the Ferrari 599 GTB Wraith is enough reason for us to bow down to the boys at SR Auto Group.

Job well done, boys. Job well done.

Video: Harry Mercalfe tests the Ferrari SA Aperta

This has been quite an interesting past couple of weeks for British magazine, EVO, as they have had the chance to test some of the most impressive cars in the world, including this very cool Ferrari SA Aperta tested by Harry Mercalfe.

The SA Aperta is limited to only 80 units, so you can imagine that actually getting permission to test it is quite a daunting task, which is why we’re pretty psyched to have a video of this test drive.

The Ferrari SA Aperta is powered by a V12 engine that delivers an impressive 661 HP at 8250 rpm and 460 lb-ft of torque at 6500 rpm. It can sprint from 0-60 mph in 3.6 seconds with a top speed of 202 mph.

Watch the video to see what Harry Mercalfe thinks about this impressive car, but we can assure you that he only has good things to say about it.

Video: Ferrari 599 GTO acceleration sound

Ferrari may have just unveiled the 599 GTB HGTE 60F1 special edition, but the ultimate 599 is and will always remain the GTO version. It is powered by a V12 engine delivering a total of 670 HP at 8250 rpm with a maximum torque of 620 Nm at 6500 rpm. It rockets the car from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.35 seconds, while top speed goes up to an impressive 208 mph.

Now, with such illustrative numbers, the sound coming out of that powerful engine should be music to anyone’s ears. As luck would have it, someone spotted a very cool 599 GTO this past weekend at Motor4Toys, a charity car show for the Christmas holiday. And the driver was kind enough to allow one of the guests of the show to record a walkaround of the car, along with the revving sounds of the engine! Enjoy!

2011 Ferrari 599 GTO by Wheelsandmore

The Ferrari 599 has been making a lot of news lately, particularly as far as its eventual successor is concerned. Now that the supercar is on its last legs, Ferrari has decided to roll out a number of special edition models, including the 599XX Evolution and the GTB HGTE 60F1. Now, before the 599 get its swan song, German tuning company Wheelsandmore has prepared a send-off program for the Italian exotic. And true to their reputation as one of the best in the business, Wheelsandmore knocked this one out of the park.

Dressed in a spectacular Yellow and Black finish, the 599 GTO was given a new set of 21" three-piece handcrafted 6Sporz² ultralight forged wheels that bear the same colors as that of its body and are then wrapped in Hankook S1Evo tires. Wheelsandmore also tinkered with the supercar’s suspension, installing a hydraulic liftable suspension that can be activated with just a push of a remote control button. What this does is lift the front axle up around 1.18" to allow the 599 GTO to clear any sort of road obstacles or steep gateways that would otherwise mess up the car’s set-up.

Finally, there’s the performance upgrade, which is really the heart of Wheelsandmore’s entire program for the 599 GTO. Thanks to a remapped ECU and new handcrafted stainless steel exhausts with remote-able valve flaps, Wheelsandmore successfully added more power to the supercar’s monstrous V12 engine. From the standard output of 670 horsepower and 457 lb/ft of torque, the 599 GTO now boasts of a spanking 715 horsepower and 490 lb/ft of torque.

Saying goodbye to a car like the Ferrari 599 GTO is never easy. But thanks to Wheelsandmore, we now have one final tuning program for the Italian supercar that we can enjoy.

2012 Ferrari 599 GTB HGTE 60F1

Ferrari is saying goodbye to one of their amazing vehicles with one last special edition, and no, we’re not talking about the 2012 Ferrari 599XX Evolution. Fresh off of the announcement of the Evolution is another special edition, this time specifically for the 599 GTB. The new Ferrari 599 GTB HGTE 60F1 was built to celebrate the 60 years since Froilan Gonzalez and the 375 F1 gave the Scuderia its very first victory ever in the Formula World Championship in the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. It is based on the powerful HGTE version and was created as part of the exclusive Tailor Made Programme.

The 599 GTB HGTE 60F1 will combine colors and materials inspired by the vehicles driven by Froilan Gonzalez on July 14, 1951 and Fernando Alonso on July 10, 2011. Customers will get to choose between three different liveries, but they will also be able to opt for a reduced body roll for a stiffer ride, sharper cornering, improved road-holding combined with superbly easy control, and an interior inspired by the two legendary vehicles.

UPDATE 04/12/12: YouTube user Brian Zuk managed to spot a Ferrari 599 GTB HGTE 60F1 up close and personal at a Ferrari dealership in San Francisco, California. It certainly goes without saying that this particular 599 GTB special edition model is one of the most desirable limited run Ferrari models in recent history. Check out the video after the jump!
