Back in April the successor to Ferrari’s 612 Scaglietti was caught on camera, although those were only stills, this time we have some video of what looks like a prototype Ferrari conducting a few test laps around the Italian automaker’s home test track.

So this time you will have a chance to see the vehicle in action tanks to the short spy video. If you take a closer look at the vehicle, you will be able to notice a modified bonnet and a few other design elements borrowed from the recently released convertible California.

Top Speed recently showed you video of a Ferrari 612 Scaglietti burning on the streets of Moscow, we have now learned the whole story, and let us warn you, it’s a sad one.

Aparently the one time Russian Ferrari owner had just finished handing over more than half a million euro (about $845,000) for the exotic Italian four seater only a half hour before the tragic incident occurred. As the driver explained, "I owned Ferrari for 30 minutes. Just bought it for €600,000 and was heading home, when I noticed some smoke coming out from under the hood, I promptly pulled to the sideway and ran out of the car. In just minutes my new Ferrari had completely caught on fire. I really don’t know what has happened." At least the individual had enough good sense to exit the car before he too suffered a similar fate.

The cause is still undetermined, and judging by the puddle of Ferrari that was left behind, it doesn’t look like it ever will. However, one thing is for certain, this definitely doesn’t look good for the Italian automaker.

Is it just me or is that 612 hot! The citizens of Moscow really do have a strange relationship with their super cars. A little while ago we showed you a Lamborghini crashed by its Russian owner, today it’s a Ferrari that has met its demise. The drive noticed smoke coming out from under the hood of his 612 Scaglietti, then someone caught the conflagration on camera.

We’ve seen this Ferrari 612 test mule earlier this month, but this time there may be more info. A new rumor is suggesting that the stacked exhaust pipes and new hood are not part of a facelift, but a full-on replacement. The 612’s replacement could even feature a 4x4 system to provide a direct rival to the all-wheel drive Lamborghinis (although the 612 seats twice as many.)

What makes us a little skeptical that this is a whole new car planned for 2011, and not just a 612 touch-up, is Ferrari’s other plans. We know Ferrari is working on a successor to the F430, plus there are rumors of a refreshed 599 GTB, 599 Spyder and California Mondial. If even half of these rumors are true, Ferrari would likely be too busy to put together a whole new car.

We’re not sure wether to call this a spy shot of a face lift for the 612 Scaglietti or if this an engine testing mule. All we do know is something is brewing over at Ferrari with its 2+2 GT car.

There have been rumors swirling around that Ferrari wants to reduce its emission by as much as forty percent. So when we see a shot with a 612 that appears to be completely stock except for the hood, we suspect it may just have some engine development. Then again, we just found out last week that Ferrari’s other GT car, the 599, will likely be getting a facelift soon, and the 612 has been on the market two years longer without a touch-up. So maybe there’s more to this picture?

To miss with perfection should be a sin. So the moment Imola Racing even began to mess with the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti, the heavens should open and swallow the German tuner whole.

At least it seems Imola was smart enough to not touch the engine. Instead this is likely just body enhancements. We don’t have much info on the kit. We do know its being considered a widebody because of the enlarged fenders and larger tires. There are also new front and rear spoilers as well as a two-tone paint job the is reminiscent of the first generation Corvette.

Carrozeria Touring made its come back few weeks ago at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este with the unveiling of two designed cars based on Maserati models. First was the Maserati A8 GCS Berlinetta, a model that was inspired by the 60’s berlinettas, while the second one, Maserati Quattroporte Bellagio Fastback, will go into limited production.

The next company that will cooperate with Carrozeria Touring will be Ferrari. They want a model that will be able to satisfy customers looking for exotic body. The model they will work on will be the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti.

The final result will be unveiled at the Paris Auto Show.

The over 13,000-kilometre Ferrari Magic India Discovery Drive made a triumphant return to Mumbai this evening, exactly as per the drive programme. The cars were received at the Gateway of India, close to the starting point of the drive, in a grand ceremonial flag-in event.

The Magic India Discovery Drive was another milestone test for the mettle of Maranello’s flagship GT model. More than 50 journalists took turns behind the wheels of the two cars along the 13 often extremely difficult stages spread across India, taking in 57 cities in the over 70-day tour. This kind of event is not new to Ferrari, however, as the "China, Ferrari 15,000 Red Miles" tour of the entire China in 2005 and the "Panamerican 20,000" tour from Brazil to the USA in 2006 both proved exceptionally successful too. To celebrate this latest achievement of the two Prancing Horse cars, a large group of Ferrari enthusiasts gathered today at the Gateway of India.

Also present was a large number of journalists to whom President Luca di Montezemolo sent a special video message. "I want to thank all the people who made possible this event around some of the most beautiful areas of the world. The Magic India Discovery team was everywhere warmly welcomed by the Indian people that showed a great passion for Ferrari.", said Mr. Montezemolo. He also stressed that "the two 612 Scagliettis felt right at home on the Indian roads, demonstrating that Ferrari Grand Tourers not only guarantee top class performance but also absolute safety and comfort even in the most extreme conditions."

Third time and it’s India’s turn. Two Ferrari Scagliettis are travelling across India, an odyssey aimed at creating awareness of Ferrari and to explore the marvels the country has in offer.

Ferrari unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show the 612 Scaglietti One to One - a new personalization program that will allow every client to fully personalise this flagship model, courtesy of a wide array of new content as well as the options available through the Carrozzeria Scaglietti Programme. In fact, a special dedicated "atelier" area has been set up at the factory in which clients can put together their own bespoke 612 Scaglietti accessory by accessory, detail by detail.

The V12 engine has a dry sump lubrication system featuring both delivery and scavenge pumps, twin overhead cams, 48 valves, maximum power of 540 hp at 7250 rpm, maximum torque of 60 kgm at 5250 rpm. The car has a maximum speed of 198 mph, and 0 to 60 mph acceleration of 4.0 secs.

The 612 Scaglietti also sports the aptly named SuperFast gearbox which delivers an exceptional gear-shifting time of 100 milliseconds and a reduced inertia clutch to enhance the engine’s responsiveness still further. The iconic Ferrari manettino, now featured on the entire range, has also been added to the steering wheel.
