It is equipped with a 5.5-liter 48-valve V12 engine and a transaxle-mounted six-speed transmission. The full leather interior accommodates four adults, with the standard custom-made 5-piece luggage set in the trunk.

The Pininfarina-designed exterior is constructed of aluminum with the hood and headlight lids fabricated from composite honeycomb.

Standard features on the Ferrari 456 GT include an anti-lock brake system (ABS), driver-adjustable suspension, and variable-assist power steering. A 4-speed automatic transmission will be made available during the summer. Models with the automatic will be designated as 456 GTA.
