2006 Ferrari 612 Scaglietti Special Edition by Wallpaper design magazine

The new Scaglietii is a unique partnership within Wallpaper*, the leading magazine for design, interiors, fashion and travel and Ferrari GB. Ferrari invited Wallpaper’s award-winning Creative Director Tony Chambers and Art Editors Meirion Pritchard and David McKendrick to design a stylish and sophisticated Ferrari 612 Ferrari 612 Scaglietti interpreting the unlimited possibilities available via the Carrozzeria Scaglietti Personalisation Programme.

In addition to the new Handling GTC package and F1 gearbox, Wallpaper* specified the car in a stunning but subtle two-tone paint scheme, with two complementary colours Nero and Blu Pozzi which are also silhouetted in the interior of the car, which has Nero and Blu Scuro leather Daytona seats with Blu stitching.

The bespoke aspects of the car, designed and manufactured under Ferrari’s Carrozzeria Scaglietti Personalisation Programme, are: Wallpaper* branding on the aluminium kickplates, discreet branding on the leather of the glovebox lid, and a custom-made leather pocket for the magazine’s new Wallpaper* City Guides which will be launched in September 2006 as part of the Wallpaper* 10th anniversary celebrations.

The Carrozzeria Scaglietti Personalisation Programme isn’t restricted to just the car. Wallpaper* wanted to extend the bespoke elements to the matching six-piece luggage set which has not only been designed in the same Nero and Blu Scuro leather as the interior of the 612 Scaglietti, but the scallops on the luggage (which reflect the scallops which grace the side of the car itself) also feature Wallpaper* branding to ensure the car is truly unique.

‘Carrozzeria Scaglietti’ Personalisation Programme

The Carrozzeria Scaglietti Personalisation Programme allows clients, in typical Ferrari style, to choose the styling flourishes, finishes and accessories for the car to suit their own tastes and needs, adding a truly ‘personal touch’ to their 612 Scaglietti. This forges a special relationship between Ferrari’s clients and their cars.

Four specific areas are covered by the programme: Race and Track, Exterior and Colours; Interior and Materials; Equipment and Travel.

New for 2006 are the HGTS and HGTC sports equipment packages which offer customers the option of specially designed modular wheels, a tuned sports exhaust system and revised suspension and gearbox settings, with the HGTC package also including Carbon Ceramic Brakes.

Specifically, the two packages include

  • HGTS Package: Sports Exhausts, Modular Wheel Rims 19" with Sport Tyres, Coloured Brake Callipers, Specific Suspension Control ECU, Revised F1 Gearbox Software with Shorter Gear Shift times.
  • HGTC Package: Carbon-Ceramic Brake Discs, CCM System Monoblock Brake Callipers, Sports Exhaust, Ball-polished Modular Wheel Rims 19" with Sport Tyres, Colour Brake Callipers, Specific Suspension Control ECU and Revised F1 Gearbox Software with Shorter Gear Shift times.

The Travel section offers a radio-satellite navigation system that includes a radio, a CD player and navigator in a single unit, integrated phone devices including Bluetooth technology (the cell phone and stereo unit can talk to each other cordlessly). Parking sensors are also available.

A special repair and wheel inflation kit comes with the 612 Scaglietti as standard. Upon request 19" spare and ‘run flat’ tyres are available. The latter, which can travel 120 km at zero pressure at speeds of up to 49 mph, have a reinforced section that stops the structure and profile collapsing.

Also available to make life aboard even more luxurious is the exclusive six-piece Ferrari luggage set specially designed by Pininfarina for the luggage compartment.
