2012 Ferrari FF Maximus by DMC

Generally speaking, Ferraris are some of the few models in the world that shouldn’t be touched by tuners. However, when it comes to the FF our opinion varies a bit due to the fact that it’s by far one of the most... hmm, let’s say "not well done" Ferraris ever. Basically, it’s just plain ugly so we were ecstatic to see that German tuner, DMC, had already started working on revising the model. There’s not much they could do for the overall look of the sports coupe, but the added power sure makes it a bit more enticing.

They say a good personality can override horrendous looks, and we agree, but a great personality helps that much more. Taking that into consideration, DMC added a new set of twin superchargers, a new exhaust system with 90 mm tailpipes, a new intake manifold, larger fuel-injectors, high-flow air filters and a large intercooler to achieve an extra 216 HP out of the ugly duckling. Now the 660 HP V12 engine found in the standard FF can deliver a mind-blowing 876 HP and 636 lb-ft of torque. The 0 to 60 mph sprint can now be made in 3.2 seconds, while top speed will go up to more than 211 mph.

DMC didn’t forget about the exterior entirely so they did their part by modifying some of the FF’s elements to give the design more of an XX feel. The front bumper was completely redone in carbon fiber and incorporates sharper edges with a longer stance. The sides now incorporate some new air scoops, while the rear end of the FF was also done up in a carbon fiber rear diffuser and a taller trunk spoiler. DMC’s Carbon Fiber technology allows the new components to shave off 154lbs from the vehicle’s standard weight, making it that much faster. The aggressive look is then finished with lowering springs, a front-axle lift up system, and lightweight wheels, 21" at the front and 22" at the rear, wrapped around Pirelli PZero tires.

We can’t say we think the Ferrari FF looks that much better with DMC’s styling additions, but we love what they do for the performance aspect of the vehicle. 876 HP and a 3.2 seconds 0-60 mph sprint time is just downright sensual.

Agreed. The speed performance of the car is very impressive for a tuning version. Actually, the DMC have boost the power output of the car into an impressive figure!BTW, I guess the carbon fiber material used in the car increases its speed.

This is what I’m talking about! The car have an impressive speed performance as expected from an aftermarket version. However, too bad that they haven’t modified the exterior of the Italia.

A trial and error? How do you say so LiveLongCoolCar? It’s cool you know. This not a turn down for me. The color is some kind of lame, but it makes the FF strange and exotic.

Hey, I heard that Lamborghini is developing an SUV. Well, if Ferrari is crazy enough to follow suit on that one, I think they already have something to work on, just take a look at the FF.

Ferrari means red. Just kidding. I’m not really into its color but I know that this one is obviously just a trial-error launch. I don’t think fans would love this one. A big turn down for Ferrari smiley

I actually noticed that one too. Really does look a bit like the Z3, but probably because both cars actually fill the same niche. Nevertheless, I would say that this one is still much better than the standard FF.

The fact that it looks like an uber expensive Italian made version of Z3 bothers me .. ALOT

The 612 Scaglietti > The FF design wise

The exterior design look good but the engine and the total performance is the best. Tuning up a Ferraris engine I think is the best way of tuning it. Because a Ferrari’s design is simple perfect.

Well, it still looks bad when you look at it from the side, maybe they can work on that station wagon rear a bit more. But this one is still very much a Ferrari.

Well, if you think of it, racing at Boneville isn’t really all about looks, but rather more about speed. And with the specs that they have on this baby, then they really have no problem in that department.

Well, this one definitely looks much cooler now. Though I wouldn’t say that the FF is really that ugly, I do agree that the car does need some more work to make it stand out.

hmm. Since an aftermarket company can make this car boost its power into an impressive. I bet its also possible to remove its speed limiter..that would be awesome!

Oh yeah! This is what I’m talking about recently..it seems that i was right! Well, the boost power of this car is kind of impressive and I would say that 216 hp additional speed for the FF is incredible! And I bet its 600+ torque will surely give the car a rocket-like speed.
