Gemballa’s troubles seem like distant memories now. It’s not really worth rehashing all the details of the company’s recent history; instead, we can celebrate how it has rebounded from it to produce some pretty impressive tuning programs.
It’s most recent project will be on display at this year’s Essen Motor Show and by all accounts, it’s going to be a pretty incredible project. The program, called the GTP 700, is for the upgraded Porsche Panamera Turbo and like the name indicates, it gives the German sedan quite a hefty performance boost, increasing the output from the already-impressive 520 horsepower to an incredible 700 horsepower.
With the Panamera carrying a 4.8-liter, V-8 twin-turbo engine, that spike in output is made more impressive by the fact that Gemballa was able to massage the modification to ensure that no stones were left unturned in giving the Panamera Turbo that jump in numbers.
No word yet on how the increased output translates to performance numbers, but considering that the standard Panamera Turbo already hits 60 mph in 3.9 seconds to go with a top speed of 189 mph, we won’t be surprised if the final numbers approach 3.5 seconds with a top speed of around 205 mph.

Since debuting a few years ago as Porsche’s resident luxury sports saloon, the Porsche Panamera has definitely captured many hearts and minds in the industry.
It’s design didn’t endear itself to a significant amount of the population, but as Porsche’s four-door sedan, there’s no denying that power and function were placed as premium qualities for the German vehicle.
The Panamera also has a multitude of engine options at its disposal, including a 4.8-liter, V-8 engine that can produce as much as 520 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque to go with a 0-to-60 mph time of just 3.8 seconds with a top speed of 189 mph.

The Essen Motor Show has always been known as an exhibition with a cast full of automotive superstars. This year, AUTO BILD SPORTSCARS is showcasing a series of extremely high performance record-breaking cars from November 30 to December 8, 2013. Among the exhibits at Stand A101 in Hall 3, the GEMBALLA GTP 700, based on the Porsche Panamera Turbo, is a particularly special highlight. Unlike many super sports cars, the 515 kW / 700 hp luxury sports car is a fully fledged daily driver and touring vehicle for up to four people.
The GTP 700 has already given an impressive demonstration of its capabilities as part of the "High Performance Event" in the Italian town of Nardò. The fastest test track in the world is famous for its top speed records, regularly playing host to showdowns between dream cars on behalf of AUTO BILD SPORTSCARS and Continental. We won’t reveal GEMBALLA’s exact performance figures just yet – the results will be available in the December 13 issue. Until then, visitors to the Essen Motor Show will be able to form a personal impression of this exceptional athlete
It bears mentioning that the four-door from Leonberg reported for its high-speed evaluation without any special modifications or preparations. Except for the performance tuning kit officially available from GEMBALLA and the weight-reduced light alloy wheels, the GTP 700 used corresponds to the standard configuration of a Panamera Turbo. However, customers who value an even more individual look can receive a special aerodynamics package as well as a bespoke interior on request.
