Fiat added a new version trim to the Grande Punto range: the storming new 1.4 T-Jet 120 Sporting, a model that combines performance and driving enjoyment with Fiat’s advanced engine technology. The new T-Jet petrol engine uses the latest turbocharging expertise to give outstanding power and torque but with notably low emissions and fuel consumption.
The Fiat Grande Punto was launched in India in 2009. The Punto comes with 4 engine options which include a 1.2 and a 1.4-litre petrol and a 1.3 litre diesel. There is also an option of the 1.3 diesel with a VGT. Its competitors are the Honda Jazz, Tata indicant Vista, Maruti Suzuki Swift, Volkswagen Polo, Skoda Fabia and the Toyota Etios Liva.
Following in the wheeltracks of the original hugely successful Punto hatchback, which has accounted for over six million sales since its launch in 1993, the new Grande Punto’s objective is to regain leadership of the highly competitive and crucially important European compact hatchback market.
