Let's be real here for a second. There are only a certain amount of things you can to the Fiat 500 to make it more appealing to customers. The car doesn't exactly look like a million bucks, although its retro-themed design does appeal to a certain segment of the car-buying population.

So when Fiat->ke30 comes out with a special-edition 500 dubbed the "500 Cult" and describes it as a top-of-the-range version of its 500 line that offers an "exclusive level of style, technological content and performance," nobody's doing any backflips thinking that this baby can compete with even the tamest of sports cars->ke506.

But all that isn't to say that the 500 lacks in any appeal. Like we said, a lot of people dig the bygone looks and the tradition of the vehicle, so much so that rolling out new duds for the 500 isn't such a bad idea.

Essentially, that's what Fiat is banking on with the 500 Cult, offering a plethora of new options for both the coupe->ke141 and convertible versions that puts even more emphasis on the hatchback->ke304's trendiness.

Fiat 500 Cult in Detail

Lattementa Green. That's the color of choice Fiat decided to go with as part of the Cult package. It's a nice and mild mint green shade that's really easy on the eyes. Combine that with a two-piece roof that features one part fixed glass and the other gloss-black paintwork, and you have a 500 that actually looks pretty refreshing. On top of that, mirror covers are also an option and can be chose in either a chrome or gloss-black finish.

Inside, the same Lattementa Green makes an appearance on the dashboard and matches nicely with the new leather seats, which Fiat dressed in a variety of color choices. An instrument panel with a seven-inch TFT display was also added into the mix, as were the automatic climate control, rear parking sensors, a leather steering wheel with Blue&Me controls and Dualdrive electric power steering.

If you're looking into making a nice buy of a 500 Cult, it's important to note that the hatch is available with a variety of engines, including a 95-horsepower, 1.3 MultiJet II turbodiesel; a 69-horsepower 1.2; an 85-horsepower, 0.9 TwinAir Turbo gas; and the new 105-horsepower 0.9 TwinAir Turbo.
