The Fiat 500L is probably not the first - or tenth - vehicle you'd associate with accompanying you on your off-road->ke450 travails.

But that's the beauty of a show like SEMA->ke216; you see cars turned into something you wouldn't have accepted and they're all the better for it!

That's the case with this Mopar-tuned Fiat 500L, called the Adventurer.

One look at its name and you immediately recognize that this 500L wasn't built to be a city-dweller, like the standard model is supposed to be. Yet you see that the crossover is pretty versatile in it of itself because the 500L Adventurer looks one heck of a rugged hell raiser.

The 500L Adventurer also has a performance upgrade, thanks to a new Mopar cold-air intake and cat-back exhaust. No word yet on how much of an output increase it'll have, but we're preparing ourselves for a significant increase in performance.

Exterior Details

The Bright White body paint is heavily accented by a Vibrance Bright Orange paint on the roof. Mopar roof rails and a large roof basket can also be found on the 500L's dome with custom 500L graphics on the door panels, with the L painted orange to match the roof, adding a nice character and depth to the vehicle's exterior story.

A host of other exterior details were also added, including orange mirror caps, tinted taillights, tinted chrome exhaust tips, molded splash guards, a chrome FIAT logo ring, and a new set of 18-inch concept wheels.

Interior Details

Inside, the modifications are highlighted by black perforated suede Katzkin seats and pearl leather seatbacks. Orange appears to be a preferred color of the 500L Adventurer, as the cabin carries plenty of the accent, especially the painted bezels and the similar treatment surrounding the speaker grills and steering-wheel badge.

Rounding out the interior enhancements are a two-tone instrument panel in black with a white leather insert, a Mopar seatback coat hanger, all-weather mats, a pedal kit, doorsill guards and a cargo organizer all from the Mopar catalog.

2014 Fiat 500L

With the new Fiat 500L, customers will enjoy the same performance figures offered by a 2013 500, but wrapped in a crossover body that is longer body than the 500 and gives 42 percent more interior room.

The model adds two more doors and, thanks to its increased height and width, it will offer the best-in-class interior volume of 120.1 cubic feet. Everything else remains pretty much identical to any other 500 model, but an extra segment-exclusive glass A- to D-pillars will provide nearly 360-degree panoramic views.

Fiat also adds the all-new Uconnect 5.0 and 6.5 touchscreen systems for the 500L. The model is being offered in four trim levels: Pop, Easy, Trekking and Lounge and will be priced from $19,100.
