Matech Racing has announced their plans to enter three Ford GT
cars in the 2007 season of the FIA GT3 European Championship. This project is in the hands of Martin Bartek, owner of the Matech Concepts Company, located in Switzerland. The Swiss team has called on Christian Schumacher, of Belgium, to prepare the Ford GT cars for thei homologation with the FIA. Edo Competition has unveiled the Ford GT supercar. With a new supercharged V8 engine, the Edo Gt has an output of 610 hp and a top speed of more than 210 mph.
Federal safety regulators have gotten four complaints about half-shafts coming loose in Ford GT
s but are not conducting a defect investigation. If the half-shaft separates from the transaxle, the rear wheels lose power.
Ford also acknowledged a much wider problem - at least 60 incidents of broken shaft bolts - but said it is not a safety issue. A spokesman says Ford issued a service bulletin on the car last year.

When you are rich and famous, making a donation of $100.000 is not such a big deal for your pocket. The Oscar-winning actor Nicholas Cage donated his personal 2005 Ford GT 40, valued at more than $140,000, Wednesday to Universal Technical Institute Inc. students to use for training.
His GT was a limited-edition vehicle (4500 ever built) which commemorates the look and feel of the original GT 40 painted in a blue-streaked.
