2006 Ford GT by AE Performance

  Review

The Ford GT is one of those vehicles that is and always will be an American icon. Originally produced in 2005 and 2006, the GT drew inspiration from Ford’s classic GT40 race cars of the 1960s and had the 550 HP necessary coming out of its mid-mounted 5.4 L Modular V8 engine to back up the design. Ford has already talked about producing a second generation of the model, but until that happens, we will bide our time by finding true pieces of tuning art like AE Performance’s version of the Ford GT.

The full specs of the package have not been released as of yet, but we did get some pictures to drool over, as well as a few hints as to what we should expect. The Ford GT by AE will get an extra 130 HP to add to the mix, along with a new set of ADV.1 wheels and a discrete body kit. Surprisingly so, these pictures show that AE Performance has done away with the original’s racing stripes, but has left a vibrant candy apple red paint job to shut us up about it.

That’s it when it comes to details about the package as of right now, but already we would have to say that if the price is right, we’d take this version of the Ford GT over the Ferrari 458 Italia any day of the week. Hit us up with your thoughts on the matter in the comments section below.

It looks so luscious on its body paint! Well, I must say that I’m also very fascinated with the modification of this Ford GT, and it’s a good thing that it has an impressive engine specification.

I agreed. The platform of the vehicle seems vintage! I hate the concept of a wider body for it ruined the sexiness of the car. And I agree that it’s better not to compare the car with the Italia.

haha. They have made a wider version for this car, and I think its hideous! Plus, the speed performance is not that impressive! I think I would be better to less consider this car.

Hey dude, just be careful in typing your comments here. You’ve got mixed it up! Oh well, with regards to the design, I agree with you. It has just widened. Maybe we should check for more resources for upgraded styles.

The boost in the power output of the car is quite impressive! However, this car not worth to be compared on Ferrari Italia although they seem to have a similar platform

For a high speed performing vehicle, it doesn’t have an awesome styling. However, the speed performance if the car is great but still the Italia is an awesome car production.

Maybe you’re not comfortable seeing such kind of car that has a wider body. On its exteriors, it looked the same as the old Ford GT.

I think a flat car is much better. It makes the car look cool. Its back part makes me think that it is having a turbo

I think they would be planning that for release by 2014. I have hear that they will be doing a lot of innovations for that one, so I can’t wait.
