2012 Ford Fiesta ST

Next to the Focus ST , Ford also unveiled the Fiesta ST at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The Fiesta ST is a concept car that features bold and dynamic exterior styling inspired by the Fiesta RS WRC and a driver-oriented interior. The concept also hints at what a future Fiesta ST performance model could look like.

The Fiesta ST concept continues a tradition started 35 years ago with models like the Fiesta XR2 and XR2i, Fiesta RS1800, and RS Turbo. Under the hood, the concept gets a 1.6-liter Ford EcoBoost engine that delivers a total of180 HP.

"The Fiesta has a rich history of high-performance models so a new ST performance model is a logical next step in our performance vehicle strategy for our global small cars," said Derrick Kuzak, Ford group vice president, Global Product Devel Devel opment. "The Fiesta ST Concept continues that tradition by showing how a global performance version of our best-selling B-car can be both technically advanced and dramatically styled."

Exterior and Interior

Ford Fiesta ST

The exterior of the new Fiesta ST concept was inspired by the Fiesta RS WRC and includes a large, distinctive trapezoidal grille and a dramatic rear diffuser that envelops a twin exit exhaust. The concept has also received a lowered stance, widened wheel arches filled with 17" alloy wheels, and full ST body kit mirrors. The interior gets Recaro sports seats for the driver and front passenger.

The Fiesta ST is finished in a new color for the European market - Molten Orange - as featured in the North American Ford SVT F-150 Raptor pickup.

"With the Focus ST we promised to deliver uncompromised sports performance and styling to a truly global audience for the first time, without sacrificing Ford’s key values of Smart Smart , Safe, Quality and Green. With the Fiesta ST Concept we are demonstrating that our Global Performance Plan has legs," said Jost Capito, Ford’s director of Global Performance Vehicles.

"The Fiesta ST Concept shows in the most dramatic way possible that the qualities that define an ST are not limited to one model. The potential for delivering the ST experience to an even wider audience are laid bare by this striking new concept."

Engine

Ford Fiesta ST

The new Fiesta ST Concept is powered by a 1.6-liter Ford EcoBoost engine that delivers a total of 180 HP and a peak torque of 177 lbs-ft. The output is just enough to sprint the concept from 0 to 60 mph in less than 7 seconds and allow it to hit a top speed of 136 mph.

Prices

The Ford Fiesta ST is only a concept so there’s no chance that anyone will be ever to purchase one at this time. That being said, the production model for this concept is set to debut in 2013.

Competition

Ford Fiesta ST

When the Fiesta ST goes on sale in 2013, it will have to take on models like the Renault Clio 200 . It gets a 200 HP engine and sprints from 0 to 60 mph in 6.9 seconds, while top speed halts at 141mph. The Clio 200’s performance may be better, but the Fiesta ST has a more aggressive look that will appeal to the masses.

This Ford Fiesta is absolutely looking great and awesome on its looks, although it only had a simple platform and other detailing, and I must say that I’m quite curious on its interior.

I don’t think that the engine that it had, can give a better performance of this one, but they are right it is absolutely looking great and fabulous on its body paint but just like them, I’m quite curious on its figure performance.

With its sleek body paint, I found it very sophisticated and classy. Well, Ford Fiesta ST is really impressed with its fabulous appearance. I just hope that the price of this will be so affordable and reasonable.

Impressive indeed but I think that the production version of this Fiesta ST will need to be more powerful! The exterior and interior already look perfect, just the figure performance is I think need to enhance.

I’m impressed that this Ford Fiesta ST had a racing inspired technologies. I want to see it in person! Anyway, the look of this car is very impressive and just like on what they say it is really cute on its platform.

The front headlight is so cool and just like them. I also love the sporty appearance of this Fiesta ST. I don’t think 180 horsepower that this car had is quite good for it.

I notice that this ST had a cute platform, smiley and I must say that I’m impressed with its sleek and glossy paint, even the front headlight seems so snob!
