Ford->ke31 has paired up with Harley Davidson yet again to bring us one of the toughest trucks around: the Ford Harley-Davidson F-150. This collaboration of toughest proportions has been around for many years and each year, both companies' efforts double to reveal a cooler design and more aggressive performance.

The 2012 Ford-Harley Davidson F-150->ke423 was presented in Sturgis, SD with distinctive new design enhancements, snakeskin leather interior accents, and unique body-side graphics. The pick-up also receives a new set of wheels, size 22" with painted accents and unique center cap for 2012. Under the hood, Ford has placed a 6.2-liter V8 gasoline engine, which uses big-bore architecture and delivers a total of 411 horsepower and 434 lb.-ft. of torque.

"This is a great pairing of two icons of the open road: Ford and Harley-Davidson. Both brands appeal to truck owners and motorcycle enthusiasts alike," said Marc Lapine, Ford F-150 marketing manager. "For 2012 we worked with Harley-Davidson to continue to push the styling envelope while still delivering the durability and power that F-150 is known for and that our collective customers expect. It perfectly captures both brands."

Exterior and Interior

For 2012, the exterior updates for the Ford-Harley Davidson F150 include a bold front fascia and six-bar billet-style bright chrome grille with "Harley-Davidson" bright chrome badging. The new 22-inch machined-aluminum wheels with painted accents and Harley-Davidson bar and shield logo on center cap are combined with a fully integrated deployable running board that offers the pick-up a more lowered appearance.

The car can be ordered in Tuxedo Black or White Platinum Tri-Coat combined with new graphics on the body side of the truck. The graphic doesn't just look cool, it also feels cool because it has a unique snakeskin texture that was inspired by the tank inserts on premium-level Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

The interior combines a high-gloss Tuxedo Black paint on the trim panels with snakeskin leather on the console lid and upper steering wheel. The seats also combine a premium snakeskin leather with accent color inserts and unique "cloisonné" badge.

The list of standard equipment includes: voice-activated Navigation System, a 4.2-inch productivity screen, power moonroof, and Remote Start System.

Engine

Under the hood, there is a 6.2-liter V8 gasoline engine that delivers a total of 411 HP and 434 lb.-ft. of torque and provides maximum trailer towing capability of 7,500 pounds. The engine is combined with big-bore architecture, SOHC valvetrain with roller-rocker shafts, dual-equal variable cam timing, two spark plugs per cylinder, and dual knock sensors.

Prices

The 2012 Ford Harley-Davidson F-150 will be put on sale by the end of the year. Prices will be announced at a later date, but we're guessing they'll be near the $48,505 price tag found on the 2011 Harley Davidson F150.

Competition

On the US market, the 2012 Ford Harley-Davidson F-150 will have to face models like the Dodge Ram Tradesman and the Nissan Titan. The Ram features a standard HEMI V8 engine that delivers 390 hp and 407 ft.-lb. torque, while the Titan gets a 5.6-liter DOHC Endurance V8 engine rated at 317 HP and 385 lb-ft torque mated to standard 5-speed automatic transmission.

Both models are priced below $30K, which place them way under the price gun of the Ford-Harley Davidson F150.
