2013 Ford Focus "Gimme The Gig II" by Galpin Auto Sports

“Gimme the Gig II,” the follow up to the successful “Gimme the Gig” series, decided to do more than just have a televised battle of the bands show. This year, it presented a task that only Galpin Auto Sports could have pulled off. So what exactly could an automobile tuner have to do with a television show that revolves around music? Well, GAS was tasked with taking a Ford Focus – the main sponsor of the television show, of course – and turn it into a rolling recording studio.

GAS, Ford and Don Was, a Grammy-winning producer, collaborated for the task and installed top-end equipment that includes: BAE preamps, Empirical Labs compressors, Neuman, AKG, Sure and Marshall mics, Little Red Box and Sennheiser headphones, Sony hi-fi sound system, and Apochee Syphony interface. This all came together to create a recording studio that anyone could be proud of that can travel along with you.

As for the car, there is not too much information on what GAS did, but we can tell that the Focus features a matte-black coat of paint that gives it a slightly sinister look. GAS then added in a set of aftermarket rims that have a gloss-black face and red outlines. Up front, the red accent treatment continues on the upper and lower grilles, and around the fog lamps.

Inside, you can see a custom red-and-black interior with leather seats.

Under the hood, it appears is bone stock, sans some electronics that are likely necessary to run the extra gadgets.
