Take for example the Ford Focus ST .
The new program for Ford’s resident sports hatchback is available for 2013 models and beyond. It comes with a plethora of new components that give the Focus ST some pretty impressive aesthetic and performance credentials.
The most impressive thing about this program is that despite what you already see, Roush Performance is still working on other parts for the Focus, including suspension components, powertrain control module (PCM) upgrades, together with wheels and tire combos, and interior and exterior accessories.
For now, what it has already speaks to its impressive work on the pocket rocket of a sports hatchback.

Always one to build programs slowly but surely, it’s not a surprise that Roush Performance is taking it easy with the Focus ST. For now, one of the key additions to the sports hatchback is a new cat-back high-performance exhaust system. We expect this free-flowing exhaust to go hand-in-hand with future performance upgrades down the road, particularly a cat-forward system and a new free-flow cat.
Cold Air Intake Kit
If you’re going to update how effectively the Focus ST exhale, via its new cat-back exhaust system, you also have to help it breathe more deeply. This is where this cold-air intake system comes in to play. It not only eliminates the restrictive air-intake system on the stock Focus ST with a freer-flowing one, but it also injects cooler air into the intake system. Cooler air is denser, which causes the fuel to burn more effectively, thereby increasing performance.
A cat-back exhaust system and a CAI system are not enough to really bump the Focus ST’s horsepower output much. However, these modifications will give the ST a better sound and improved throttle response – always a nice place to start. We’ll bring you more details as Roush adds to this base setup.
