2013 Ford Focus WTCC Limited Edition

World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) race team, Arena, has just unveiled the Focus WTCC Limited Edition - a production version of its WTCC race car.

The new Focus WTCC Limited Edition is painted Arctic White combined with the traditional navy blue racing stripes. The model sits on a set of 18-inch Rimstock Pro Race wheels wrapped in 235/40ZR18 Yokohama Advan Sport tires. For the interior, Arena used lots of carbon fiber, including on the center console, main control panel and sill kick plates.

Under the hood, Arena installed a 1.6-liter turbocharged EcoBoost engine upgraded by the folks over at Mountune Performance. The engine now delivers a total of 200 horsepower and 236 pound-feet of torque. The engine is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox with a Mountune short shifter. There is also a Powerflow exhaust system with a rear silencer and tail pipe that make the engine sound better than ever.

The Ford Focus WTCC Limited Edition will be built in limited edition and offered worldwide.

Ford Focus WTCC Limited Edition

Macau, 18th November 2012. World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) race team Arena today unveiled a Limited Edition road car version of their Team Aon WTCC racing Ford Focus. The new Ford Focus WTCC has been developed by Arena and will be finished at their Littlehampton, UK headquarters and has been built to celebrate the blue oval’s return to the WTCC this season.

The car is endorsed by the FIA WTCC and also enjoys the benefit of a Ford warranty that includes the specially upgraded engine. The striking looking car is finished in Ford’s Artic White and comes complete with the very same ‘foundation’ decals that appear on the WTCC racers including the now traditional navy blue racing stripes, first made famous by the late Carroll Shelby in the early 1960’s.

Under the bonnet or hood if you prefer, the car features a 1.6 turbocharged ecoboost engine that has been upgraded by Arena’s race engine partner Mountune Performance to deliver 202 ps and will sit on Team Dynamics alloys identical to those on the racing car with Yokohama low profile tyres fitted as standard. A Mountune Performance developed short-shift gear change and a Powerflow exhaust also feature on this exciting car.

Attention has also been paid to the interior of the Focus WTCC Limited Edition with trim including centre console, main control panel and sill kick plates all featuring carbon-fibre finishes.

The Focus WTCC Limited Edition will be offered for sale globally with a limited run worldwide planned. A good level of interest has already been expressed in the car and negotiations are in hand with a number of parties for an allocation of cars for various territories.

Arena is a wholly owned company within the British-based Capsicum Motorsport Group headed by leading insurance entrepreneur Grahame Chilton with as Managing Director, Rupert Swallow.

It didn’t disappoint. The handling was sharp and precise and the level of top end punch the engine delivers thanks to Mountune’s upgraded engine is amazing.’

“ I think it is a stunning car to look at – a real head turner. Everyone who has seen it and spoken to me has told me the same thing; that they love it and want one too!”

Even Tom (Chilton) was only supposed to have it for one day, but somehow he managed to hang onto it for a second so that he could take it to a photo shoot on another project!”

dave is right. and, as a driver’s car, this one will do perfect.

whoever gets this car gets it to drive it, not to pose with it! so the looks matter less.

i think the technical part of this car is very good. as far as looks are concerned, i will not way anything.

this car a dull look. it does not stand out, it is not amazing.

not the most beautiful hatchback out there. but if you take all 1.6 liter engine one out there, this one would beat them.

what this car does not achieve by looks it compensate by power. it is balanced.

i was looking at the car and i was trying to compare it with the new golf gti. and i am not sure it this one is better.

i think this car looks good. not awesome, but good. i think the RS looks better though.

you may have a point there. but let’s not forget, it’s still a ford. so they sell a car, no matter what.

if they did that, the result would have been an even more powerful car. who would have bought the RS then?

the car details are great. too bad they did not use the engine in the RS version of the focus.

200 HP and 236 pond-feet from a 1.6 engine is great!

technically good or not, at how ugly it is I would not buy it

when i thought it couldnt get any more uglier Ford gives us this one. but, techinaly, seems ok

i like it with those stripes and the color combination. it’s fine

they doesn’t say anything about any chassis mods, which I am interested about

at least this one doesn’t have the ST’s absurd hexaoctogonal center exhaust pipe

this one isprefferable over the ST, except the stripe kit.

It could be a cracking car if it can be specified without the stickers

The body is pretty lame. Looks like a fiesta with stripes
